User Submitted Medela Breast Milk Feeding and Storage Set 3 pk. Reviews October 23, 2008 Low Flow Not So Low These bottles work well with the Medela pump and have nice caps, but the low flow nipple is too much for our little guy when we try to use them for feeding. He's only three weeks old and I'm sure he'll be able to handle them someday, but right now, the ThinkBaby bottles we have seem to work well with him at this stage.
September 1, 2008 Wish you could purchase components separately Excellent storage bottles (and BPA free), but wish you could purchase these without the nipples and nipple caps which we did not want or need.
August 29, 2008 Just any old cheap bottle They are just like any other cheap plastic bottle. There are other BPA-free bottles I think work better. Dr. Brown's fit onto the Medela pumps just fine and they have a vent for your baby so the nipple doesn't collapse when he/she is trying to feed. Nothing special about these. My baby doesn't like them.
August 24, 2008 These Bottles are ALWAYS Leaking! I must say that I am very disappointed with these bottles. When our baby was born, I wanted to buy the Phillips Avent bottles. My wife pushed for, and we ultimately bought, a ton of these Medela bottles because they are "BPA-free".
I preferred the Avent bottles to these because I am not crazy about the size or design of the Medelas. If those were the only problems, I would accept it because the Medelas are BPA-free.
But the major problem here is leaking. Nearly every bottle and lid/nipple set we have screw on poorly and unevenly. As a result they leak, and my baby and I are COVERED in breastmilk or formula after EVERY feeding.
We spent a lot of money on these, and we are very disappointed. So disappointed that we are going to Babies 'r Us today to buy a brand new set of Philips' new line of Avent BPA-free bottles.
July 25, 2008 Safe and tested choice Medela, well... they are the name to trust when it comes to products like these. So, assume everything is perfect and here's what little we have to complain about that has happened, so you are prepared:
- sometimes the nipples will tilt and create a little opening where the milk will escape while feeding; prevent this by not applying to much angular pressure
- sometimes the seal (possibly on purpose to allow air) of the bottle caps isn't perfect, and a bit of milk can drip out
July 13, 2008 Fast and easy! I like that I can pump immediately into these bottles and simply add a nipple when ready for feeding. I prefer to use these bottles for freezing as opposed to using plastic storage bags for breast-milk. I believe that these bottles will retain the milk's beneficial properties more effectively than the plastic storage bags.
May 1, 2008 Great Time Saver for Pumping for New Born I love these bottles since they fit perfectly with my advanced pump and style breast pumps. the nipples and cap fit right in with the bottles that came with the package and also with other pump storage bottles. Great time saver since I don't have to transfer pumped milk to another bottle to feed the baby.
April 27, 2008 A Must-Have accessory for Medela Pump As a first time Mom, I had to bust out my new Medela Pump-In-Style by midnight the day I came home with my baby daughter. Instead of dumping the milk into another bottle and losing some milk along the way, I recommend you purchase the Feeding and Storage set which gives you a set of nipples that you can use to screw right onto the Medela pump container that comes with the pump, or the bottles in this kit for storage and feeding. The bottles are easy to read the amounts on the side, and you can pump directly into them, screwing on a nipple/cap when done for travel or those late night husband feedings. Anyone with a Medela Breast Pump should consider this product for easy feedings and storage.
April 13, 2008 Product is fine, price is too high If all you want is something to pump into and/or store breastmilk in, this won't let you down - but you can get many more bottles for your money going with the 4oz evenflo or gerber bottles, both of which come in BPA free versions. (The colored plastic evenflo are BPA free, not the clear plastic ones) Both brands will screw onto Medela pump hardware and are light enough to do hands-free pumping.
April 1, 2008 Bottles are too fat I like these bottles for use at home, but they are too short and fat to fit in the top compartment of my Medela breast pump back pack. When I go to work, I use the pump twice during the day so I like to carry 4 bottles. The old, more slender style bottles fit just right but they are really expensive.
