Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners. It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and your baby. The Moby Wrap comes with an easy to follow instructional guide and this web site with the latest news, tips and techniques. With the single stretch cotton and the width of the Moby Wrap, your baby is wrapped close and tight, insuring a secure hold. Your babys head can also be secured under the stretchy cotton fabric for added safety. You can finally have both hands free and know your baby is safe and secure.

A Must Have for Active Moms!
I LOVE my Moby wrap! My daughter is 6 weeks old and she loves it as well. She cries whenever she is put down and will only fall asleep while being held. My husband & I disagree with the "cry it out" philosophy, so the Moby Wrap allows our daughter's needs to be met while we still have two free hands. There are several ways to tie the wrap ([...] has instructions) and, unlike some carriers, it will grow with the baby.

Winter has come early in NY, yet I can still take her out for walks or shopping. If we're heading out in the car, I put the wrap on at home (don't want the long ends dragging on the ground as I try to put it on in a parking lot). When we arrive at our destination, in the warmth of the car, I slip her into the Moby wrap, pull the fabric up over her, and wrap my coat around her. She is protected from the cold as well as germs from those who want to stroke her cute little cheeks and hands!

Although I feel like I couldn't live without my Moby Wrap, there are a few drawbacks:
1) The fabric is a thick cotton -- great for keeping mom & baby warm in cooler temps, but seems too thick for summer. At home, I keep our thermostat lower when I'm wearing my daughter because it generates quite a bit of heat.
2) As with any baby carrier, it can be difficult to maintain good posture while wearing your baby. In someone prone to back pain, this may not be the best option.

That said, I feel the Moby Wrap is a must have for active moms! It's a great way to bond with your baby, maintain a sense of freedom (& sanity!:), and help a fussy baby be content.

the best baby carrier ever
The BEST baby carrier ever.
I wear my Moby everywhere. When my daughter was an infant I could shop while she took her whole nap on me. Being so close to my body, and kept warm and secure also helped her nap for a continuous amount of time. She then grew to want to be turned around, so front facing was a fun time too. She would hold things for me while cooking. She would point and sign "what that?" and it would make for some great teachable moments. If I was holding her on my hip I could only use one hand. The Moby made it possible for me to do laundry at the laundromat with no worries.

We never had a removable car seat (I feel weird carrying around my child as a piece of luggage), so during the winter I would put my Moby on under my coat then slip her in, and she was warmer then trying to cover her with enough blankets to be warm in a car seat!

All in all, the Moby is a MUST HAVE for active moms.
