Avoid countertop germs with the upright Deluxe Bottle Brush. This Brush Set allows for one-handed bottle washing, so you can scrub it while holding a baby in your arms. Brush also dries quickly, so you don't waste time between washings. This essential set includes bottle brush with nipple cleaner (stored in handle of bottle brush) and suction-cup holder. Brush is made with nylon bristles and is dishwasher safe. The manufacturer recommends replacing your bottle brush every 30 to 45 days to reduce germ buildup. Colors may vary from image shown.
User Submitted Munchkin Deluxe Bottle Brush - Colors May Vary Reviews October 5, 2008 Useful brush Quite a useful brush. Perfect pre-step to sterilizing when cleaning baby bottles. The smaller brush is effective when cleaning the nipples as well.
October 2, 2008 RUST on tip of nipple brush otherwise great design I love the grip, the suction cup and the nipple brush integrated in the handle, but this is my second brush because I got sick of looking at the rust on the tip of the nipple brush. The next one rusted just the same, but I use it all the time so it is otherwise durable. I agree that the bristles could be softer (the top bristles mat down) and it does spray all over when cleaning a narrow mouth bottle. I know better than to buy a brush with a sponge on the end. Why cant they make it all plastic like Avent so there is no rust to deal with?
September 21, 2008 Not recommended....Stiff Brush!!! This brush is too stiff.....makes the water spray out everywhere when removing out of the bottle while cleaning "very annoying"!!!!
August 21, 2008 ok but sprays everywhere! I have two brushes, one that is an advent, long and skinny with soft bristles that i love, the nipple part is hard plastic though so im careful with it. Then i got this brush for upstairs, i use it with Born free bottles and although it does do a decent job, it sprays everywhere when you take it out and you really have to scrub around, which sometimes seems to scratch my bottles. i think i prefer the advent softer bristles, also because yo can see what you are cleaning. im always afraid the munchkin nipple brush is going to tear the nipple.
July 23, 2008 I like the other Munchkin better One of the good things about this brush is that it can stand on its handle. That means you can avoid the bristles from touching the dirty kitchen counter or worse rolling to the floor.
It is sturdier than their other bottle brush because there is no foam at the tip that can get detached. But it is the same reason why I prefer the other cheaper Munchkin product. The foam at the end helps to clean the bottom of the bottle much better. This one is all bristles
Also the handle is almost at the middle which gets in the way when brushing the taller bottles. The handle scratches the mouth of the bottle.
June 2, 2008 This is best baby bottle brush that I've found! We have twins that go to daycare, that means I wash BY HAND at least 12 bottles a day. We use Avent Naturally and Gerber GentleFlow widemouth bottles (The GentleFlow is the non-BPA ripoff/version of the Avent Naturally bottle. We use the Avents sometimes for milk storage only, not feeding, so the plastic is not heated..but I digress)
We also have the Avent brush, which is great for cleaning breast pump parts, but I don't like it as much as this Munchkin brush for bottles.
We bought several of the non-deluxe Munchkin brushes...they work great for about 2 days, then the sponge completely falls apart. Then we bought the Deluxe version that is all bristles and have been using it everyday for 5 months now.
This is what I like about it
- It's durable, you'll only ever need to buy one of these. It has no sponge to fall apart.
- It fits widemouth bottles fairly well
- The suction cup on the nipple brush is great. It's intended purpose is to stick on the counter so you can store your brush (the big brush holds the nipple brush in the handle as you can see from the picture) But the REAL bonus is that you can stick the nipple brush to the side of your sink/basin and it holds it there so when you clean the nipples, you can just plunge the nipple onto the brush and give it a few spins with your fingers, then take the big brush and give it a quick twirl inside the nipple to get the base! Quick and easy!
- It sits on the suction cup base (which is the nipple brush, which fits inside the hollow base of the large brush) and has drainage holes so that once you are done washing, you jsut put the two brushes together and suck the brush onto the top of your sink and it'll dry.
It gets the bottles pretty clean (though I need hot water and a fair amount of soap to get milk oil out of the bottles anyway) and is very convenient to use/store.
When this one finally breaks, I'll replace it with the same, though it is so well made that might take a while!
Considering that this brush only costs a dollar or two more than the very crappy non-deluxe version, I'm not even sure why Munchkin sells the other one.
Don't buy a brush with a sponge as the sponge will fall apart, even though a sponge initially gets the bottles cleaner. A wet sponge also tends to get bacteria filled.
I'm not sure if the bristles (plastic) will causes scratches in your bottles, but it doesn't seem to scratch our bottles. Not that I can see anyway.
There isn't much else to say. I'm happy with this brush. The only thing that would make it better is if it was electric or something, like those electric toothbrushes!
Take it from a dad that washes ALOT of bottles...this is a good brush!
May 19, 2008 Nice brush-but has flaws I loved this brush at first, had it about a week. Then the suction part detached from the nipple brush and wont go back. I am going to try and super glue it and hopefully it will then stay. Otherwise nice brush. And yes the bottle brush should be a bit more narrow so the foam doesn't spray everywhere when you remove it from the bottle. But it works perfect for cleaning and is better on cups and larger mouthed bottles.
April 10, 2008 Very good brush, but can leave scratches We got this brush after trying a couple of others and are very happy with it. The big brush washes our Avent and Born Free bottles very well and quickly, and the little brush attachment washes the nipples perfectly. It's easy to use and the suction cup feature is nice - no brushes lying around in a germy sink. I only have a couple of small complaints on this brush:
#1 - You really need the small brush insert in place to make the full brush comfortable to use. This isn't a big deal, but it can be kind of annoying (I have twins, so I was LOTS of bottles) I started washing all the nipples first, reinserting the brush, and then doing the bottles.
#2 - The bristles at the top of the brush are very coarse, and do scratch the bottom of my bottles. I would prefer that the brush just had all soft bristles (the white ones on the side are much softer) but have yet to find such a brush. If you are gentle, however, the scratching can be minimized.
All in all, a good, well-shaped brush for bottles and other baby stuff like bottles, and even high chair trays.
February 22, 2008 Not bad for the money IMHO I like this brush. I have several. I think it is sturdier than some other brushes. I would like if it were a bit longer, as I use one for cleaning baby goat bottles (they are taller than baby bottles). I also wish the little nipple brush included in the end of the handle would stay put better. When cleaning bottles, you need to twist the brush back and forth to scrub, and this motion also tends to release the little nipple brush in the end. I have lost a brush down in a bottle before, and it can be annoying when the end comes off while cleaning. But as a whole, I like the brush and I use it multiple times daily!
February 4, 2008 Love this bottle brush! I was given this bottle brush at my baby shower. It is a little wide, so cleaning our bottles (Dr. Brown's standard) can be slightly difficult, but it gets the job done! I love that it has a suction cup base so that the brush stays clean while not in use. It's a great product, however, I would not buy it on Amazon. It's available at Target for less than half of the price listed here! Save your money and make a trip to Target!
