User Submitted Outlet Cover & Cord Shortener Reviews December 12, 2008 Awesome outlet cover, keeps baby safe This outlet cover was easy to install and fits most cords. I found it slightly difficult to wedge an ac adapter plug in there, while also using the other outlet with a standard plug, but if you put it upside down or in the top outlet, it doesn't quite plug in all of the way, but the power still connects and you can get the cover on. My son used to try to unplug the phone and lamp cords at my mom-in-law's house and it drove me crazy! So I got this and it works great. Sometimes can be a little difficult to get the cover off, but that's the point, right?!
February 19, 2008 very effective I used this product to cover the plug for my daughter's monitor. Since installing (easy to do) she actually has not gone near any outlets. The only down side is that the cover only allows one small brick plug rather than being able to utilize both outlets.
February 15, 2008 Cover keeps curious hands away! I purchased this product to keep my curious 16-month-old daughter from pulling plugs out of the outlets... and it works like a charm. It was very easy to install. I have them all over the house! I highly recommend, as it's one less thing you, as a parent, need to worry about.
December 5, 2007 Works perfect! This product works perfectly in my home. It's easy to put up, easy to plug and unplug by removing the cover, though my 2 and 3 year olds have yet to figure out how to remove the cover themselves. I even have one of these in each of my childrens room, for this is easier to use when vacuuming than trying to wrestle out the safety caps.
November 10, 2007 won't work with some outlets I agree with the other reviewer that these are a great idea. Unfortunately, almost every outlet in our house has the Leviton-brand square cutouts. These aren't usable with those style (like this Do it Best Grounding Decora Outlet ) recepticles.
October 29, 2007 Difficult to use. This product is difficult to use, especially if you have two cords plugged in to the same outlet. It is extremely difficult to get the cover on. The space for the cord is so small, you have to be very precise about where you place the cord. In the one case that I actually got the cover on, I could not get it off.
October 20, 2007 Useful thing for the house My son doesn't have an interest in trying to stick his finger into the socket but he certainly likes to pull plugs. I was spending half of the day trying to keep him away from all of the outlets. These outlet covers have solved the problem. I can get to things if need be but he can't. They are easy to put on and remove with a minimum of fuss. I am tempted to give these as gifts to other new parents. Inexpensive, simple and safe.
August 7, 2007 only good for some homes I thought this outlet was a GREAT idea and if necessary I could use them in other parts of my home. Unfortuately I bought them for my tv room which has outlets low to the ground because my house is 100 years old. We weren't able to get them on because the moulding was too close to the outlet. Otherwise, these are a fantastic idea and would work great.
