User Submitted Peg Perego Prima Pappa Best High Chair in Paloma Reviews December 1, 2008 Form AND Function We debated getting a wooden highchair and then decided we needed to suck it up and get an easy-clean plastic one with wheels and this looked like the best - we were right, and actually prefer it in every way over the wooden ones we've seen since.
HIGHLIGHTS: The seat itself is a very soft leatherette that simply wipes clean. It's also roomy enough that the baby never seems to get uncomfortable (bored maybe). The chair is very well built and the wheels roll smoothly and do not scuff the hardwood floor. It's also quite handsome and is not nearly the eyesore I had imagined it would be. Regardless, you can easily roll it out of the way, and the tray stashes conveniently on two hooks on the back.
PROS: Sturdy Adjustable Great two-piece tray makes for easy cleaning Adjustable restraints and foot rest easy-clean fabric comfortable collapsible nice build/doesn't look cheap tray slides in and out easily, but locks in place smooth, lockable wheels tray hangs out of the way on the backside
CONS Even when collapsed it's still a pretty big piece of plastic in your dining area It's not cheap, but worth every penny
November 1, 2008 poorly designed I am busy and never take the time to review products, but I felt I wanted to tell people about the things that didn't work for us with this high chair so they can make a better decision than we did! (someone just gave us a Fischer Price high chair that is fabulous so I can see how inconvenient the Peg Perego was) The tray height is still too high for our daughter, she is 2. The tray slides in and out very stickily- I reccommend just getting the 2-hand trays that click on and off. There is a big gap between tray and daughter's belly- tons of food got on her lap every meal, and she would stand up on the chair b/c she wasn't held in by the tray and hated being strapped in. The tray is too big and thus doesn't fit into the dishwasher- no need to have it stick out so far- their arms aren't that long! When I think about it, I think the gap thing was the most inconvenient- we had dinner last night with her in the fischer price and it held her in so nicely, tray snug to her belly- how nice! I say go for the FP- it still has wheels, recliner, vinyl cover, adj. height... and three snap-on trays!
October 21, 2008 Beautiful but has a couple drawbacks Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2AC3CWLSAP6D2 A video review of the Peg Perego Prima Pappa Best High Chair.
October 17, 2008 Get a Rubbermaid highchair instead! We used to own two Peg Peregos. Not this exact model, but similarly expensive. I honestly don't get the hype: they're totally expensive, the fabric is hard to clean, food gets stuck in all the nooks and crevices, they have a large footprint, and they're cumbersome to move. And they hardly fold up. (Our Peg Perego stroller sucked too. Stay away from them!)
Seriously consider a Rubbermaid Restaurant Highchair. Here's the link: High Chair With Wheels Platinum. They run about $150 bucks with the casters, but they have a very small footprint, easy to move, super easy to clean, very durable, and comfortable. We didn't even buy a tray, we just roll it up to the table and our kids eat with us at the table.
September 21, 2008 Fabulous- Superior design and very easy to use I have 3 grandchildren and purchased an inexpensive high chair at a discount store, because: "I won't be using it very much". Within months pieces were falling off. No straps so my grandchild would stand up during every meal. This Peg Perego high chair has everything needed for safety, comfort and ease of use. The straps function like the car seat straps, and now my grandson does not even try to stand... I think he realizes he's not going any where. It easily rolls across ceramic tile, and wood flooring. We watch Baby Boost in the den sometimes so he'll sit longer and eat. Luckily, our shepherd cleans whatever falls on the floor. When done, we roll to the kitchen sink to clean baby and chair. We love everything about the chair....especially the straps. It does cost more than most but it's better than most.
August 11, 2008 Don't be a high chair snob! I bought this chair 5 years ago for my son and found it to be OK, but while it one of the nicer looking chairs out there I have mjor problems with it. It scratched up my wood floors very badly and I was overjoyed the day I could pack it away. Now I am using it again for my daughter. She is a messier eater, though not terrbile, but cleaning this monster is a nightmare...so many nooks and crannies. Get over the nice looks and think about all those hours of annoying cleaning.
July 28, 2008 Terrific high chair Have been extremely happy with this chair. We've got an antsy and very messy one year old and he is perfectly content, comfortable and safe in this chair. It's got a great design that is sooo easy to clean - what a relief after our last one - including a clever tray system. Great to have the wheels to move around too. Definitely recommend it!
June 23, 2008 best high chair Love this high chair as does Ava. Cushy and sturdy with a large tray and adjustable height makes it perfect.
June 9, 2008 Prima Pappa Best? I bought this before there were any reviews available. I almost bought the afordable Chico but read a review about the tray being difficult to put on and off so I bailed and spent a lot more on the Italian made PPB. I have to say it is luxurious and sporty which is nice for zooming around the house (which we do a lot) but the tray is very sticky and requires strength to push in while holding a lever under the tray so the pegs line up. I have to hold the tray then grab the back of the seat and slowly but firmly push it in and hope it doesn't all the sudden slide easily and quickly. I already caught my 7 mo old's knee once and his fingers get in the way often so it's just a matter of time. The tray height is high but I have a baby in the 100th % so he's okay and will definitely grow into it. I like the removable tray that fits snuggly over the tray itself. Easy cleaning all around. Seems very durable so I will be able to use it for baby #2 if need be.
May 6, 2008 I would sit in it if I could I researched highchairs thoroughly and this one received the highest ratings for usability, features, and durability, but was dinged on several sites for the tray height. I uploaded a couple photos of my five month-old and while the tray is a little high, I anticipate that she will grow in to it by the time she is eating a lot of solids.
The chair seems high quality, I was able to unpack it, pop the wheels on, adjust it, put the tray on within minutes of its arrival without having to read any instructions. The tray is easy to slide on and off and does a good job of keeping the baby secure. The wheels glide nicely and I am able to push the baby from room to room very easily to her delight.
I am very pleased with the chair, it is more expensive than most, but appears more tasteful than a lot of the others and I expect that it will hold out well for kid #2.
