Worked well WHEN it worked
This pump worked well when it worked and that is the only reason I gave it two stars. The first Embrace pump I had suddenly went out on me before my daughter was a week old. I called and they sent me another but in the mean time I was told to purchase a hand pump and send the receipt in for reimbursement. I sent the receipt in and never was reimbursed. When my daughter was five months old the second pump went out. The lady on the phone was friendly and told me this pump was made to withstand more use than I was giving it. Once again they sent me a new motor. I asked about the previous reimbursement and was told she would look into it and get back with me. It has been over a month and I still haven't heard anything. My baby sitter also had this pump with her first child and had the same thing happen but when her second one went out they refused to send her another saying they had already sent one. For the money I would go with another brand.

comfortable, efficient, good buy
I ordered this pump so I could store milk and pump when I go back to work. The bag that it comes in is nice, and all of the parts and accessories come in separate bags which makes it very easy to stay organized. The pump has a lot of options for settings but I never use stronger or faster settings than 3/5 and it only takes me about 15 minutes to pump. The cups are soft and minimizes the discomfort of pumping. It does come with a cigarette lighter adapter so you can use while traveling as well.

The downsides are that the pump is a little noisy, especially the higher the suction setting. Also it is not very convenient to disassemble and wash after each use, but I think this is similar with every pump. I am a little concerned about the durability of the parts, but I've been using it at least once a day for nearly a month and so far so good.

It's pretty fantastic, does the job and well worth it!
I just recently bought this pump because I had the Medela double breast pump, but the motor went out on me-You don't expect a $200+ device to go out after 3-4 months of use, but that one did. After reading many of the reviews for the Playtex double breast pump, I decided it was the best choice since I breastfeed and work full time.

The Pro's to the Playtex double breast pump---1. Very comfortable when pumping,,,just like everyone says, it simulates as if the baby is feeding. 2. You can see the milk being pumped. 3. Several levels of suction and speed of suction--it's especially nice when you have limited time for lunch or whatever during work and need to pump in less than 15 min or so,,,it definitely gets the job done and you aren't sore after wards. It comes with 2 types of bottles to pump with--2 standard bottles, and 2 that you can put drop in liners in, **and a little tip**-I wash the liners and use them over a few times before disposing them, to save a little money of course! 4. The tote the pump comes in is nice, and a few smaller bags for the parts is handy to keep everything organized. 5. Comes with an ac adapter and a car adapter. 6. And finally the best part--Cheaper than the Medela double breast pump and much more reliable!!!

Con's- The only complaint I have is the few additional parts you have to assemble for it. I know a few other reviews mention it. But I have found you can actually find the cup accessories online unlike Medela cups.

Overall, go with the Playtex Embrace system, it is pretty fantastic, and you won't regret using it.

Good buy for the money
This was a pricey purchase for me because my last pump was less than $100 and I thought it was fine. Little did I know I would spend this much on a pump and be this impressed! It's great! WOuld do it all over again.

Happy with purchase
I bought this pump with some reservations since the Medela is so highly recommended, but the idea of having a softer silicone breast cup instead of hard plastic convinced me to go with the Playtex. I've been back at work now for 3 weeks and have been pumping 3 times a day. The pump is comfortable, and the amount that I'm able to pump is comparable to what I have read is average for most people with the Medela, plus it works as fast as what I would expect from a more expensive pump - my pump sessions only take about 15 minutes. I especially love the travel bag and the smaller organizer bags. My only complaint is that the ice pack does not seem to stay cold for the whole day, so I have switched to using a different cooler bag that holds two ice packs. Also, as an FYI to anyone using Avent bottles, there is a kit that you can purchase that enables you to attach the Avent bottles directly to the pump since they're an odd size Avent Breast Pump Conversion Set

Efficient, Quite and Easy to Use
I started pumping about a week after my baby was born and I am very impressed with this pump and accessories, which make pumping and storage of milk a breeze. The instructions on how to operate are very user friendly with great pictures. For a pump that is priced middle of the road, it is efficient, quiet, and easy to use. Best of all, the five suction levels and five speed levels allow me to adjust to my own comfort level. Unfortunately, this is the only pump I've ever used so I don't have another pump to compare it to. However, I highly recommend this one.

Great pump for everday!
I used this pump for quite a few months everyday about 5x a day. It never lost suction and was GREAT! It was compatable with all bottles I used except for Avent. So worth the money and cheaper than renting one from the hospital. I would advise making sure that bfeeding is for you before you spend money on this expensive of a pump though. Good luck!

Love this pump!
I love this pump. I needed to start pumping right after my son was born to increase my milk production. They gave me a Medela hand pump at the hospital and I hated it. I got this one from my mother in law, and it worked so well. It increased my production, and it is really comfortable. I know that several women with larger breasts complained about this one, but I haven't had a problem, and I am a D. It is quick and since you can set both the suction and the speed, it really easy to have it mimic the way that your baby nurses. My only complaint is that the cups are a pain to clean since they are four pieces that you have to take apart. Other than that, I love this pump, and would recommend it!

I have both this and the Medela and this is WAY better
I originally bought the Medela Advanced Pump In Style after two months of renting the Medela Lactina while establishing my milk supply with my 32 week premie girl. After lugging it back and forth to work and finding the breastshields as absolutely uncomfortable and extremely painful since I was pumping 5x a day, I set out to find something that worked differently and this Playtex seemed reasonable.
It is amazing - the technology was just perfectly how I envisioned pumps should be made. Rather than just straight suction of the nipple into a tube, a pocket of air is suctioned around the nipple, like baby's mouth would naturally do, making this virtually pain free. At first I found that I was not getting enough suction on the highest setting but my husband pointed out that there is a Y connector so the suction power is split in half when double pumping, so I tried single pumping and the suction was very strong and worked better than the Medela. I don't mind doing each side separately if it means less discomfort and pain. Also, this is $100 cheaper, lighter and even came with the vehicle lighter adapter. What more could you ask for?! I wish I had done research prior to buying the Medela but it was really pushed by the hospital as being the best but it is far from it. I plan on recommending this to any new mother who plans on pumping regularly because it is that much of a lifesaver. It is a hard decision since you cannot just try out pumps since they are not returnable but I can honestly say if it is a choice between the Medela and this, you MUST choose this as it wins for its value, milk expression ability, and comfort because those are the most important factors.
