User Submitted Prince Lionheart 2-Stage Seatsaver - gray Reviews October 14, 2008 Prince Lionheart Seat Saver - Good product Like the product but needed to purchase shelf liner to place on the back part of the seat. This product has padding that covers the bottom of the seat for an infant. It would be better if it came with something for the top. Adding the shelf liner avoids damaging the seat.
October 1, 2008 Not Safe! Prevents carseat from being installed properly. Like all of you, I wanted a product that would help me protect my seats (leather) from my boys carseats. We were already starting to get indentions in the seats of our new Honda Odyssey. I read the reviews and this seemed like a pretty good product and the description stated that it had traction on the seat saver to prevent the carseat from sliding. My husband has installed many carseats and we always get them inspected by our local hospital. After trying several different ways of installing the carseats we finally came to the realization that you can not achieve a snug/tight proper install using this seat saver. After installing your carseat you should not be able to yank your carseat and have it slide. For all of you that where happy with your carseat install using this seat saver..I would suggest for the safety of your child to please have your carseat installation inspected by your local hospital, fire, or police dept. and let them give you the thumbs up on the install with this seat saver.
August 9, 2008 Excellent seat saver The Lionheart seat saver does an excellent job in keeping your car upholstery like new. I was able to get a tight fit by "getting in" my child's seat while installing.
August 1, 2008 Smells bad! I just got this today, and I haven't actually used it yet. I am leaving it in my garage for a few days to let it air out. When I opened it, it was like opening a can of paint. The fumes are very strong. I do not want to put it in my car and leave the windows up. I am sure the fumes could be harmful to the baby, just as you should paint the baby's room well before it is born to protect it from those fumes. Hopefully it will air out and then I can use it.
July 29, 2008 Prince Lionheart does the job Prince Lionheart 2 stage seatsaver (GRAY) does the job of protecting the automobile seat from marks left by constant pressure of the child seat or child seat adapters. The lips around the edges can also contain crumbs and small spills. I have seen some comments that the black color may run when wet and leave stains on the automobile seat.
July 18, 2008 seat protectors Very pleased with quality of material. Expect to have many years of use from this item.
July 6, 2008 grandma's take note I recently purchased the Prince Lionheart seat saver for my granddaughter's car seat, to protects my seats. At first, my son got angry because he though I was more interested in protecting the seats in a new car. But after installing them, which didn't take long at all, he realized that not only did the seat saver fit snug, the baby's safety really did come first.
July 4, 2008 Do NOT buy this product! It is not safe!! Do not waste your money on a seat saver such as this one. It is NOT safe (I am a certified child passenger safety technician) and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a tight enough install using one of these. Seat savers are NOT safe. They can slip in a crash and again, it is not possible to get a tight enough install with these products. Please protect your child and DON'T use this product or any "seat saver mat."
June 25, 2008 Useful product I think this product is a good $14 investment when you consider the mess that sometimes children make as well as how your seat will look like after having a tightly installed car seat for years.
June 16, 2008 Almost perfect... I've used the thinner car seat mats in the past. They had many problems: * they didn't go high enough * they were too thin causing deep impressions of the child seats in the car seats * they did not prevent child seats from sliding
So when we got a new car with nice leather seats I decided to look around for a better solution. I came across the Prince Lionheart 2-Stage Seatsaver and it solves (almost) all these issues.
* The material is thick enough to protect the seat fabric. * The bottom of the Seatsaver is lined with rubber creating a non-slip surface. it was a lot easier to install than our previous mats. * The only reason the Seatsaver gets a mere 4 stars is the fact that the back protector is still not quite tall enough. We have Britax seats and their backs can leave deep indentations in the seats. The Seatsaver is neither tall enough to cover a captain's chair nor a regular one. So I found myself extending the area to be protected with towels to prevent any damage. I guess my ideal car seat protector would be tall enough to go all the way up a car seat and then back down. The reason why is the rear tether whose straps wrap around the top of the seat. Left unprotected you will be left with deep impressions from the tether straps. Prince Lionheart could take their design further and simply create additional velcro sections that can be attached to perfectly fit any situation.
Other than that I'm extremely happy with this product.
