User Submitted Prince Lionheart Ultimate Wipes Warmer Reviews November 16, 2008 Great Warmer!! This warmer has been fantastic! No cold wipes on my little guys bum! When I bought this (before my son was even born) I bought a replacement pack of pillows, just to have, well, after 9 months I FINALLY changed the original pillow! As long as you keep it moist, you'll have no problems.
I also bought the diaper depot to go with this so I can keep diapers and wipes together at all times, and the warmer itself elevated, so I'm not sure what this would do to a wood tabletop (I noticed some reviewers said it's ruined their furniture). It DOES get pretty warm on the bottom, and every time you have to open the top to refill, a little water will spill out. However, for the VERY few cons this product has...the pros definitely make up for it. Great product!
November 15, 2008 replacement pillows are not worth the cost overall This warmer works well, but requires replacement pillows to keep the wipes moist without drying out. They state to re-wet periodically (which I do almost weekly) and replace every 3 months, but they get old about every 6 weeks and the wipes(especially generic brand wipes) start to dry out. This warmer is one of the higher priced ones and the refill pillows are an added expense. I recommend buying a wipe warmer that heats from the top (these are the only wipes that need to be warm anyhow!) The white and teal munchkin one heats from the top and I have heard it works great.
November 15, 2008 Not so good... This is really not a good item. Bought it in anticipation of the birth of our daughter. Liked it at first, but then the pads you have to place in the bottom dried out and had to be replaced. They are expensive! Then, just as I read in other reviews, the latch broke. After that, it became such a hassle to use since the entire top had to come off to get the wipes out, I just stopped using it. Our little one is now a toddler and we've moved to Alaska. Yup, it's cold. We bought the Dex wipes warmer and are very pleased. It warms from the top, so the top wipes are warm, it's solidly built, and best of all, no pads to replace. They don't even sell those pads where we live now, so they'd be hard to get a hold of. I was very disappointed in this product and feel that I know better now, being quite a bit more experienced of what to look for in baby items. You'll end up spending more on those dumb pads for this item than the item itself in the long run. Go with Dex instead.
November 14, 2008 not worth your money ill just give a quick review on this. we got this thinking it would be great to use warm wipes, and it would, except for that as soon as you remove the wipe within 5 seconds its not warm anymore. so unless you use the wipe the second you remove it from the warmer, it wont be warm anymore. kind of a waste of money. one of those products that someone came up with to get your money. dont bother
November 8, 2008 Skip it! We used this product for the first month of our daughter's life. She developed a yeast infection and the pediatrician instantly knew we had a wipe warmer. She said it's a huge problem with these devices. We threw out the warmer and no more issues. Although warm sounds better, the device didn't make THAT much of a difference. A cotton ball or wash cloth dipped in warm water is much warmer. We simply use room temp Seventh Generation wipes. No problems in 7 months.
November 8, 2008 Warm is BETTER than Cold As another reviewer stated, when I saw the warmer, I thought it was a bit "over the top" and wasn't too disappointed when I didn't get it for my shower. HOWEVER, we quickly realized that wet, cold wipes in the middle of the night wake babies up. We went right out and purchased this wipes warmer. This review should be written by the baby who was so very happy to not have the cold on her little bottom. I would say that within the next couple of diaper changes, she began to stop squealing when she was wiped. It was miraculous! I highly recommend this product along with the 2 stands that come with it.
I did see that someone was upset about what wipes would and wouldn't work with this warmer. I found that the warmer worked great with the Costco "Kirkland" brand of baby wipes as well as the Huggies brand. The biggest thing to make sure of is to find the wipes that will feed through like a box of kleenex. They will state on the package if they are made for that or not. I can say that we really were pleased with the "Kirkland" brand because they tend to be a little more "wet" than other brands.
November 3, 2008 A necessity for the nursury I had made a joke to my wife that someone should make a baby wipe warmer because our little granddaughter would get quite a cold shock with every diaper change.
I Googled and sure enough someone did make one. We bought this model because it had received high ratings from other parents. The high ratings are justified!!!
The wipes are nice and warm and moist down to the last wipe at the bottom. No more BIG eyes from an ice cold wiper to the bare bottom.
We bought the insert refills too but haven't had to use them as the original one is still in great shape.
October 29, 2008 heat ruined wood changing table top I'd give this ZERO stars if possible. we bought this wipe warmer for our second and while it was fabulous for keeping wipes warm, the fact the unit is heated caused the wood of our changing table to crack in the entire area under it. Was this even tested before it was put into production? Completely ruined a $400 wood changing table. NOT happy. If you love it, then make sure you put a diaper cloth under it, but when you do it's really an eye sore.
October 24, 2008 Really Nice for Newborns, Make sure to keep the Replacement Pillows Wet I am a Mom of 4 and I didn't get a wipe warmer till my 3rd child (a boy). I thought with the first two children that this was a "luxury Item". While I don't think you have to have a wipe warmer, it sure did come in handy! My son was always "spraying" me when I changed his diaper with non-warm wipes. So, I got a wipe warmer and decided to give it a try. It made a huge difference! I never had a problem with getting peed on again. I guess the coldness of the wipes on his skin made him always have to go. I used it with him till he was about a year. I had our daughter this year. I have been using it with her and it still keeps the wipes nice and warm. If ever I used a cold wipe when she was first born, it would make her cry. She definitely preferred the warm wipes! I know they advertise that your wipes won't dry out or become brown. This is true as long as you put water on your replacement pillows inside the wipe warmer. I forgot for a couple of weeks to do this and the wipes on the bottom did turn brown and dry up. Ever since that incident, I have remembered and I haven't had a problem.
September 20, 2008 Everthing works great except for the latch We bought this product before our baby was born. The idea is wonderful and our little baby boy appreciates the warm wipes that come out of it.
My ONLY critisism is that the latch to close the warmer broke after about two months. Now we have to cram the next wipe to come out, in between the latch mechanism.
The only reason I gave it a 3 is because it broke so soon - otherwise it works perfectly.
