Providing a safe and secure environment, Prince Lionheart's washPOD is similar to that inside a mother's womb. The washPOD is recommended by physicians and midwives as one of the best ways to bathe your newborn baby. Age: 0-6 months.
User Submitted Prince Lionheart washPOD Reviews October 17, 2008 Save the money I've been washing my baby in a small trash can for the past year, and it works just as well. Plus it's a lot cooler to say, "look at me - I'm washing my baby in a trash can".
October 10, 2008 Read the reviews and was worried I thought this was a great idea and bought this then read the reviews and thought... Have I just spent $24 on bucket? But my son loves this. He can sit in there with water up to his chin and soak. It makes him so relaxed. There is actually a soft little seat inside and we just love it!!
September 30, 2008 happy baby, happy mom Yes, it's a $30 bucket. But it's a NICE bucket, with a squishy little seat for baby's bottom and slanted sides so the baby can see out. Handy little handles make it easy to lift it from the tub to the counter, and I like that it doesn't need a lot of water.
My sister in law sent this to us, and when I opened the box I laughed and thought "what is this?" Then baby arrived and we tried it out. Now we're converts! My 3-mo old loves it. If she's having a rough evening, cranky and crabby and out of sorts, we just give her a bath. She settles in and splashes and likes looking at herself in the mirror. She seems to be very secure, warm and cozy in it, which is great. I have to lift her up to wash her bottom and legs, but that's OK. My son hated baths at this age, and I'm glad she's not stressed by the whole bathing process. I don't know what we'll do when she doesn't fit into it anymore.
August 27, 2008 Bought this for my friends new baby... I thought this would be perfect for my friend and her new son. We both liked the idea that the baby was upright, and in so much comforting warm water - and she was tired of bending over the sink or the bath to bath her son. I was right. She does love it! This thing is just the right size where you can fill it with enough water on the bathroom floor, and you can sit down comfortabley and bath your baby. The baby really likes it too.
June 13, 2008 It's Cute But, I haven't used it yet... I bought this because it's new and none of my friends had one for there babies. My baby isn't here yet so I have not used this product. It looks very cool and it's cute. I just wonder how easy it is to get your hands inside to wash baby when he is sitting inside.
April 12, 2008 An amazing bonding experience I was excited when I saw the washPOD in a magazine ad, there wasn't a place to purchase it locally so I did so online. The first time we bathed our daughter in the washPOD, it was amazing- she was only a week old, there as no screaming as we had experienced with our oldest. Quite the opposite, her eyes lite up and she look around amazed and happy. It was a bit awkward at first, but as she grew and I got more accustomed it proved to be a wonderful bonding experience. There were many nights when she would become fussy, that I just put her in the washPOD and it soothed her so that she could fall asleep more easily. I'm only sorry that at 7 months it seems she has outgrown it. Try it, be patient, you won't be disappointed.
March 20, 2008 my baby loves it this is like a spa for my baby. I wash her bottom first, then put her in the deep tub and she is a happy baby. even at one week old she stopped crying as soon as she went in. I like this deep tub better than the traditional ones because with those other ones half of their body is out, wet and cold. I used one for my first baby and she never liked taking baths and I don't blame her. Who likes to be cold when bathing.
December 20, 2007 It's a BUCKET! I sent my husband to purchase a bath seat for our daughter and he bought the Aqua Pod. I have no idea why he found this an acceptable thing to stick our baby in. Um... it's a bucket! Honestly, I felt like I was sticking my kid in a garbage can and it scared the bejeezus out of her as it were.
There is just no room to put a baby in there. Sure, you can stuff him or her in there if you use a little bit of force but there is no room for you to even clean your baby.
May I just comment on this picture they have used to advertise this product for a minute???
My husband purchased this because it simulates the womb (because aren't ALL of our wombs made of hard plastic?), it claims... but had I taken one look at that baby in the picture there is no way in hell I would have picked this out myself. Look at that kid! He looks terrified! And then there is the mother who has the audacity to offer up a rubber ducky as if the baby has any extra room for playing!
Seriously folks... this. is. a. bucket. For thirty dollars, you can dunk your baby in this contraption. For free, you can stick them in the toilet because that at least has a rinsing option. This product is ridiculous. Mine was returned immediately and replaced with an actual bath seat. If you frequently stick your baby in a spaghetti pot and find that that is suitable for you and also you HAVE thirty dollars to spend, then get this thing. But, if you are a normal person who doesn't want to stuff their kid in a tiny bucket and fill it up with water and scare the crap out of them, then get something else. This product is nothing more than an overpriced bucket. You could get he same thing at Home Depot for two bucks.
September 6, 2007 my son and I love it!! After an hesitating first week with the pod, my son loves it, I wash him first on his changing pad then I rinse him in this tub! well he just enjoys it, he is not even2 months old but he is laughing and smiling when he is in it. The only problem is that is screaming when I got him out of it!!
August 18, 2007 Cool, but difficult to use I thought this was worth a try because it is so different than other bath products out there. It does work, however, it is hard to wash the baby's bottom and get in between all the leg creases, etc. You also can't really get the area soapy since all the soap washes off the wash cloth because the baby's bottom is submerged in water. This makes it hard to wash off diaper cream, etc. My babies did like sitting in it after their initial surprise. Might be good for brief dips where heavy duty cleansing is not needed, but otherwise, it doesn't really work so great.
