User Submitted Schwinn Hope Jogging Stroller Reviews August 30, 2008 I LOVE THIS STROLLER! I love this! I love the color, the quality, and the way it handles. My last jogger was a Bell, does not even compare. For the price, its fantastic! I have seen and had the more expensive ones- no need to spend the extra money, all you need is right here. And truly- great color combos!
UPDATE!!! After a week, we had three flat tires! Walking on cement! The bike shop said spokes were defective. It costs over $100 to get it fixed all the times we did, and now last week- the other tire is going flat! The shop said the spokes are defective and making it happen. On the other tire they ended up putting a thin metal cover in it. It seems ok so far. I am angry we have had to put the extra money into a brand new item however.
June 29, 2008 A lot bigger than you would think! Very large but great for jogging and fast walking .Does not yield ,you will have to lift it up to be able to turn left or right ' THIS ONE RIDES STRAIGHT ONLY!
June 16, 2008 Great jogging stroller for the price Bought this jogging stroller after borrowing an old Babyjogger from a friend. I did a good deal of shopping around and even talked to a service rep. from another company about some of their options. This stroller was priced right and had most of the featutres I wanted (no clock, but few jogging strollers have them).
PROS: As a bonus, it has a rain shield is permanently zipped into the sunshade so it is fast to deploy and you don't have to spend extra to buy one. It was easy to assemble even for my non-direction-reading husband. The wheels are smooth running and the adjustable height handle is great. I had a brief problem with it pulling right but adjusting it was super easy (even on the road without my manual). The big wheels and shocks make sidewalk bumps a breeze -- SO much better than a conventional stroller. It is a bit difficult to steer at low speeds (walking) but all you really have to do is push down on the handle to lift the front wheel and it turns easily. It's not made for the mall, so don't expect it to be suited for that application! I didnt' want a swivel wheel, because they can sometimes jam on bumps. The 2 break options are great as is the leash. I can let go of the stroller when jogging and have no problem reeling it back in. The rear wheel break system is very easy to use and quite firm. Much better than the front only break on my friend's jogger and better than the break on my full sized Graco as well. When it's on it's on and you can't push the stroller at all. Finally, I think that when it's all folded up it may be almost exactly the same size as my full sized stroller making it just as easy (or not easy) to take on trips. My 14 month old likes the padded seat -- she rests her head on the side comfortably while we walk or jog. I like the zip pocket in the back for wallet and cell phone. The parent tray is a nice bonus as well that is not available on all strollers. I like the mesh back. I think it will allow more air through in the hot and humid days of summer.
CONS: I do agree with others that the basket underneath is hangs too low and am trying to think of a way to rig it so it might carry heavier stuff. The design problem is that it is hung on a wire loop that is only secured at the front of the stroller and has no support by the back wheels. I have not had any problems with it, but am concerned that if I put a few water bottles in it it pr something heavy it would bottom out on bumps. The hip belt seems snug even on my 14 month old -- I'll look into adjusting that better but I'm not sure it does. The sun shade tends to not look as crisp on mine as it does in the picture. Maybe it will settle in over time. I have run with this a few times and it is quite comfortable.
Summary: This is a great jogging stroller for the money. It has almost replaced our full-sized Graco stroller for walks around the neighborhood, the park, and camping. Well worth the money if you are trying to get back in shape or want a smoother ride for baby.
May 27, 2008 Hope Jogging Stroller This stroller is a great buy. I am 5'2" so it may not be great for someone that is really tall but the handle does adjust for different heights. It is a great stroller for running.
May 12, 2008 My experience purchasing this item The product is pretty good and good looking. I found two issues: 1)the front whells are not able to turn so I think it will be difficult to be ride smoothly. 2)Is pretty big to use in stores or at home.
March 27, 2008 Good Stroller! I really like this stroller but, it doesn't steer quite as easily as I would have liked. It was easy to assemble and folds down just as easily. Certainly worth the money but, wish it had a bit more mobility.
January 28, 2008 Great jogging stroller I am very impressed with the quality and well thought out features of this jogging stroller. As for the negative reviews that I have read, they honestly don't apply to this product.... A jogging stroller is just that; a stroller that primarily travels in a relatively straight line, therefore the need to "turn easily" is not required, unless of course you jog in circles. Here's another hint - the faster you jog, the easier the stroller turns - Physic 101. If you are looking for a stroller that can maneuver through crowds in the mall, buy either a conventional stroller or one with a front wheel that swivels.
December 22, 2007 Love this stroller! I love this stroller! It is very easy to push and rides great! I love that the handle is adjustable, I think that is a great feature in a stroller at this price. I am very impressed with this stroller and the colors are wonderful!
October 23, 2007 Schwinn Hope Jogging Stroller I am a bit disappointed with this stroller, as it does not have a front wheel that swivels, thus making it difficult to turn. Otherwise, the stroller is very sturdy and provides a smooth ride. Just wish that making turns was a little bit easier.
July 11, 2007 for the price this is what i thought! i personally think for the price of this jogger it is a good product...i have a 9month old and she enjoys it very much...the only problem i have with it is the basket underneath hangs down to low i think. so i personally took it into my own hands and bent the metal bars up to heighten the basket from the ground, and now its good to go... but other than that minor flaw it seem to be a fairly decent jogger for the price...i would have liked a more durable jogger but they are twice the price that is why i picked this one, so as i said again for the price this works great and the zip out weather shield is a huge plus for rainy days...no need to carry extra stuff.
