User Submitted Summer Infant 3-Stage Super Seat Reviews January 6, 2009 Great! This is three stages! It's SO much better then just those normal/popular infant seats. Well worth the money and my granddaughter really seems to love it.
January 5, 2009 Nice. We were looking at getting a Bumbo seat and came across this little chair. For the same price why not get one that is more versatile?
Our little man is three months old so he doesn't sit in it for very long at a time. He gets sleepy from holding his head up.
A couple of reviews I read talked about how assembly was kind of difficult. I did not find this to be the case at all.
December 23, 2008 Looking for a bumbo with straps? The Bumbo wasn't working out so well for us so I got this and my son loves it! Has straps and a 'cusion/extra seat' inside for smaller babies. The ring around is a bit hard to move but he loves to play with all the toys. Great for sitting in with or without straps because the ring around keeps him in (for now that is!).
October 9, 2008 The best seat on the market My daughter is 4 months old and I have tried the Bumbo, Bebe Pod, and now this. This seat is by far the better of the three. Bumbo is too narrow in the legs, and my daughter would have grown out of quickly. Bebe was good, but she would have grown out of quicker than this seat. My daughter will be able to use this eat for quite sometime, and the toy tray has been good. I only gave it 4 stars because the toy tray isn't the sturdiest, and the toys aren't that great. But, it's till better than the other seats and my daughter is entertained. I have gotten some of those toys with the suction to add to the tray, and that seems to entertain her even more.
September 30, 2008 Summer Infant 3-stage super seat Its pretty nice. I'm hoping my 4 month old will like it better as she gets a little older. The toys are really cute. I like the inside padding.
September 30, 2008 Great for babys! My little man loves this chair. Keeps him content for a while. It seems to really help his back where he is learning to sit alone. I love this chair and recommend to everyone.
September 13, 2008 She loves it I bought this b/c she wants to sit up, but cant quite yet so this is perfect. I wish I wouldve bought it sooner. I was scared of the bumbo b/c of all the skull fractures so I'm glad I got this I think it's much safer. I have a big baby and she fits in it great. She's 20pds and over 28 inches long and just turn 7 months. The only bad thing is I have to watch her carefully when her 3 year old brother is around b/c if she has her arm out on the table it could get caught on the toy if you spin the table around. I've caught myself doing it a couple of times myself b/c you have to spin the table around and slide the front part off to get her out. So you have to pay attention when you turn the table to make sure her arm doesnt get caught on a toy. Wouldnt be good.
August 20, 2008 Great Idea, Bad Design I saw this seat while looking for something to take on trips for my 4 month old. I thought it was a great idea. Until I tried to put it together. What a joke! The support legs are all but impossible to squeeze on right as you have to stretch the plastic to get them to align with the screw holes. The toy tray is also a great idea but doesn't fit snug leaving it quite unstable. I am so disappointed in this purchase-I will be returning it to the store and going with something else.
July 28, 2008 Good, not perfect Initially, the activity ring is a bit difficult. It does require two hands, which is definitely not convenient. The toys are interesting, however the ladybug-mirror is not designed well. Little fingers can get squeezed between the turning ladybug and the holder. All in all, my grandson enjoys sitting in this chair (on the floor) when I feed him, but it's not really worthwhile for anything other than a temporary seat for short-term play/feeding.
July 16, 2008 Great item for baby Highly recommended! I bought this item when my daughter started getting sick of lying down on her back. At the time when purchased, I was trying between the Bumbo seat & Bebe Pods. There were plenty of reviews on the Bumbo seat and Bebe Pod, but they weren't very helpful for me because people either Loved their Bumbo or Bebe Pod, or hated it ~ there was no gray area.
Then I came across this item, but there weren't any reviews on it! I googled this seat to see what I could come up with and 1 person had reviewed it on another site. They said it replaced their Bumbo & Bebe Pod, plus she loved that it was a 3 stage deal.
Well that review sold me on this item. I've had it for about 6 weeks now ~ I started my daughter on it when she was 3 months. I really love it. Here are some excellent feature points:
1) The seat is very sturdy and supported ~ you can strap the baby in if you want. But when I have the tray around baby, I usually don't strap her in; I just don't see the point when she's surrounded by the tray and can't go anywhere! Seat also came with straps to use when you're ready for the booster seat function. I haven't used it as a booster seat yet.
2) The tray is easy to remove & to put around baby. Most the time I don't even remove the tray, I can just slide baby in and out without much trouble. The tray swivels around the seat. There are places for drink cups. The toys that came with it are great because they are snapped in place ~ I don't have to worry about losing them or baby knocking them lose.
3) When the tray is removed, there is no worries about the seat being unsteady. Seat is sturdy on a platform. The only problem I foresee, is when I want to use the seat as a booster, you have to use a screw driver to remove the platform ~ it won't be so easy to interchange from a booster to a play toy.
All in all, this is a great item. It was the same price as the Bumbo Seat and Bebe pod. I feel this seat has more to offer than it's competition!
