User Submitted Summer Infant Spout Protector Reviews September 17, 2008 Cute, but use with caution. A very cute product and provides a safety measure for the bath. However, be cautious when using this while actually running the faucet. This device can actually cause water to back up into the faucet and then into the wall causing mildew and water damage over time. My advice is to place it over the faucet after you have filled the bath, then take it off again after the bath is finished.
August 15, 2008 Cute Cute turtle. Works well, but I wish they had a cut-out in the head for my shower pull so I didn't have to take it on & off all the time.
August 13, 2008 Tubby Turtle Ordered for nephew, Patrick. Still searching for monkey spout protector because he seems to love monkeys.
August 7, 2008 Does exactly what it's supposed to Works like it's supposed to, my monkey boy doesn't scrape himself on the faucet while taking a bath anymore. It holds on tight and looks cute. The only downside might be that you have to take it off every time you want to take a shower if you have the integrated shower switch on top of the faucet (you are unable to get to it otherwise). Other than that little inconvenience, I highly recommend it!
July 21, 2008 useless as a safety item I agree with Jack's mom. My infant can get this off EASILY. Waste of money.
July 2, 2008 Love this one After purchasing the Hippo spout cover and having it fall off constantly. I tried this turtle one, and it works great. It stays on (we leave it except to clean) all the time. My daughter cannot pull it off, and it seems to be just right mix of hard plastic/rubber so she can be protected from the spout, but not injured from the device either.
April 28, 2008 What am I missing? My faucet doesn't have a knob on top, and seems pretty standard to me, but this thing will not stay on. It's cute, but I'm sorry I wasted the $$.
April 11, 2008 Snug, secure fit Took some pushing and prodding but once I got the spout cover on, it stays put and covers the spout perfectly. My son hasn't bumped into it yet :) so I can't attest to its comfort, but it works well and looks cute! We have a tub spout with a circular pullout for the shower on the spout itself and this item worked well with that design!
April 6, 2008 Hard Plastic and doesn't work if spout has knob on top This spout protector is made of a hard plastic so it isn't much safer than the metal spout. If you spout has a pull knob on the top to send the water to the shower head then this turtle won't fit over your spout making it useless. I wish they would have disclosed this in the information section. I ended up buying an air filled protector.
March 25, 2008 Great safety item. This turtle is very cute but also very effective. It slides on easily and protects my little one's head.
