Great tool!
In general I am against using TV for small children, but I have seen this work with my niece - allowing her to express herself before she can pronounce the words - and in this case I'm making an exception for my own son. It reduces frustration and it's fun. I don't think this short video will be harmful and I would venture to suggest that any potential 'harm' is vastly outweighed by the good of enhanced communication and reduced frustration. I would suggest two things: 1) Hold off until your child is eating solid foods or many of the signs will be meaningless to them. 2) Don't try to force your child to watch. If they're not ready then they're not ready. Put it on in the background anyway so you can learn the signs and use them, too. Maybe your child will get the benefits without ever having to watch him/herself! Overall it's a great product. I highly recommend it.

Very effective and fun for both child and parent
My sister has been using this with her daughter. She showed it to us and we witnessed how effective it is and how much my niece enjoys it. We bought 3 copies as gifts. It shows both adult and children signing. Huge impact on my niece's ability to communicate and no fussing and pointing. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent!
This has helped my daughter with developemental delays tremendously. She is learning to say the words as she signs them and can communicate better. Worth it to buy because she watches them constantly. We recommend ALL the Signing Times and Baby Signing Times videos.

Excellent show!
My 5 month old son loves to watch this video because of the cartoons and music. For now this is better than the original signing time but I love them all!

Educational Dvd
We had purchased Volumes 1-3 before we got this one, I found this one educational even though the content was more animated than the first 3 volumes. The dvd is nicely done & easy to follow.

Great entertainment for baby (and educational too!)
This DVD has my son mesmerized every time I put it on. The singing, animation and video of many babies grabs his attention and holds it when I need him to be occupied. The signs are demonstrated very clearly and it's easy for parents to pick them up and start using them with baby. Wonderful DVD!

No Better DVDs Anywhere!
I bought volume 1 when my daughter was 6 months old, but she wasn't interested in anything on a tv screen. When she was 14 months, I brought it with me on our summer vacation, and within one day, she was signing "milk" and "more" and "eat." I purchased volumes 2 and 3 right away, which she mastered within a month. Now she's 16 months old and we are working on volume 4 and 9 (Zoo Train since she loves animals!). Her vocabulary is currently over 50 words, and I supplement with an online ASL dictionary for other signs she needs in her life. She actually says "please" and "thank you" with a gentle reminder! Wow!!!! It's really exciting to her that the connections she makes to the world can be expressed to us. I can not stop raving about these DVDs to anyone who will listen. I had purchased baby signing books, none of which I found practical for my busy schedule. Other baby signing videos I tried were D-U-L-L for both of us. My only regret is that I forgot about owning volume 1 until she was 14 months old. These DVDs mix great instruction with music with animation with video of real life and babies. She LOVES them and requests that we play them. Even if they are short (30 minutes each) they are worth every penny. I am ordering Leah on the Farm today. Don't hesitate. You won't believe your eyes when your baby talks to you!

Absolutely Great DVD
I decided to try using sign language with my second child. I tried another instructional video and learned some, but it seemed like work. With this video not only did my one year old and I learn the signs, but also my 8 year old and husband- who passed through the room and were fascinated enough to watch along.

Both informative and entertaining.

My daughter can't get enough
My 2 year old daughter saw volumes 1 & 2 and fell in love. She rarely watches any TV (she doesn't enjoy most videos/DVDs) but she really enjoys the content of these DVDs. She learned the signs very quickly as the presentation is perfect for her. I strongly recommend these and wish there were more volumes.
