Bought three...
I bought three of "Benji, the Hunted" DVDS. Two for my Grandchildren and one for me... I love the story, which was filmed where I grew up. I thought it would be a nice gift. The Grandchildren loved the story.

boring!!
Benji runs and then runs some more- back and forth. Very Boring but the kids loved it. I remember Benji in the city being a little more exciting as a kid.

Boring but cute
I checked out this movie at the library. It was okay but boring. All that happened was Benji ran into a bunch of animals and they chased him (sometimes alone and sometimes with his cougar babies). Then finally at the very end a cougar comes adoptes the cougar babies.
It was cute to see Benji's emotions because he reminded me of my own toy dog Teddy (a big fan of the first Benji movie). I would recommend this movie to dog lovers only. If I didn't love dogs as much as I do I probably would have been more inclined to flip the switch on this movie.

So what if there is no features!
At least your owning the DVD with the movie on it which is a lot better than watching the crappy video because the DVD has better pic than what you got on video. This is one of my favorite disney movies and I would recommened to get this on DVD.

My favorite Benji movie
I have seen it about 3 times now and still enjoyed it. Main theme of the movie is about humanity and survival. Benji had many chances to be rescued with his owner, but he had a good sense with task at hand first to bring the orphaned cubs to their "adopted" mother and putting his rescue with his owner on hold. The most impressive part on Benji's part is his courage to overcome the obstacle uphill the cliff bringing the cubs to their "adopted" mother. I loved every minute of it. This is a family movie and good for everyone of any age.
For people who wants to know if this DVD has caption or subtitle. It does have caption. The DVD cover doesn't show caption symbol on it, but the DVD itself does. I know Amazon.com listed it closed-captioned. But, they don't always list the info. correctly as it happened to me in the past. So, I double-checked the Disney website and they show the menu demo that this movie has caption before I decided to buy the DVD. If you have TV with caption on, then you can leave subtitle from menu off, otherwise, caption and subtitle will show up at the same time.

On January 17 all dog fans should be exited about a movie coming to DVD staring Benji, Mike Francis, Nancy Francis, Frank Inn and Red Steagall. Benji the Hunted is about a dog named Benji who is world's most popular canine actor and he is staring in a film with a dog that adopts little orphan cougar cubs. They run away from a man and a beast to avoid being eaten. There are no bonus features. The rating is G. The run time is an hour and twenty-nine minutes. The aspect ration is 1.33:1 fit for 4x3 TV screens. The sound is Dolby Digital 5.1. Enjoy!

My All Time Favorite Benji Movie!!! :)
This to me has to be my favorite Benji movie! It has very little dialogue but extreme amounts of emotion. I've seen more emotion from the animals than any other animal movie. This is a MUST for all who want a good message at the end.
After a shipwreck, Benji survives and is stranded in the wilderness trying to figure out how to get out of the bind he's in. He quickly changes goals and plays "mother" when he discovers young orphaned Cougar Cubs when he finds out that a hunter shot and killed the mother. Benji has a few oppurtunities to go back home to his master but he sacrifices his life and time to try to persuade another mother Cougar to adopt the cubs. During his adventurous goals, he discovers a Wolf is after the cubs for a quick and easy meal. Benji tries to steer the Wolf away from the cubs putting his own life on the line. To add, the music is powerful and emotional that fits perfectly with the story.
I just recieved the DVD through Amazon, and I have mixed reveiws. Although seeing the movie once again does go above what I consider "the little negative things" about this DVD, I was still a little bummed that the DVD only has the 'full-screen' edition and the quality of a VHS. Other than that, I'm just glad that Amazon has finally released this movie! :) I will gladly own this until they at least release this in 'wide-screen'.

A Heartwarming Movie For The Soul
I love this movie so much. i saw it when it 1st came out, & i have loved it ever since & will love it till the day i die. the movie tugs at the heartsrtings like no other movie that has or has not bein done by cgi today. The scene where Benji tries to rescue the wounded cougar mom makes me cry everytime. She looks up at benji as if to say, "go, while you still are alive" the whole movie is so touching, heartwarming, funny, all wrapped into 86mins of fun filled movie magic. The ending where Benji has to say goodbye makes me cry my heart out everytime. this movie will always be in my heart forever. take care benji, my little buddy, wherever you are, i love you.

Amazing
With all due respect to anyone who gives this less than 3 out of 5 stars, you are missing the point of this movie. So what if it does not have much dialogue. Actions speak louder than words, especially when they come from the heart. The musical score is superb and touching. If you can't see feeling in that little dog's eyes, then you have no heart, for if you do, it must be made of stone. To say that this film holds no meaning to you is to repress your own emotions.
It is not just a movie for kids. It should touch your heart no matter who or how old you are.
This movie is not about loud sound and fantasmic special effects. It is about everything that is good. At the core of the movie are unselfish love and persistence towards a goal. Who could ask for more?
Whether or not you are a Benji fan or a dog lover like I am, you should be able to identify with this movie in some way.
If you have kids, let this and other Benji movies become a part of your family. You won't regret it, and you'll be instilling some great values of how to live life in yourselves and in your children.
I hope this review helps and touches you in some way, just as the movie is meant to do. Watch it with an open mind and a good heart, and you will get everything out of it. Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

Wonder dog
Thought this movie was for the kid's, but watching this movie with my daughter's, found it was so tugging at the heart story.
Wish life was like this, cute and want to watch again movie.
