The Power of the Alphabet - Today we're having an alphabet playdate! And guess who's at the door...it's the one and only Alphabet! The infamous 26 letters have actually come over to our room and are ready to play. Adorable puppet letters with funny "take charge" personalities literally take over Blue's Room. Letter and words are everywhere! Throughout the episode, the letters show us all about "Alphabet Power"...the power to Read, Write, and Spell. We play an alphabet game of Doodle in which we learn how to write letters. There's an original Blue's Room game of "Spell it/Pretend it". When we read a word, Blue magically transforms into it. Then we pretend it along with Blue and the Home Viewer. Then our favorite neighbor, Antonio, comes over to share and read one of his favorite books with us, "Chika Chick ABC" by Bill Marin Jr. and John Archambault. By the end of our playdate, we realize just how powerful the alphabet really is! The Alphabet Train - All aboard! Everyone's in the backyard building an Alphabet Train. The train is made up of twenty-six boxes- one for each letter of the alphabet- and we need to help find something for each box. We play Blue's Clues to figure out what Blue wants to put in the last box. We help Pail figure out which items begin with certain letters. Then we help Periwinkle put a group of letters in the right order. The train is almost finished when we skidoo into a world of letter magnets to identify words beginning with the letters V,W,X, and Y. when the train is complete, we sing a rousing song that names something starting with every letter of the alphabet. Bonus episodes/ Added Value-2nd Menu Page - approx. 50:00 minutes - on DVD only Let's Write! - Joe and Blue are being writers today! We're making labels for things in our house- like hat, door and Sidetable Drawer. Using our finger, we help Joe write letters and words, paying special attention to the shapes and lines of each letter. And we play Blue's Clues to figure out what Blue wants to write. We help Marky the Marker write labels for boxes in our closet and then skidoo to help Palette write a whole word. We sing a song about some of our favorite letters with Palette, and then head back to solve Blue's Clues. At then end, we celebrate all the words we've written. Magenta's Messages - Magenta is going on a trip to the beach- and she asked us to take care of her house while she's away! Magenta leaves us a message so we'll know what to do. Blue wants to write a message too, and we play Blue's Clues to figure out what it should say. We spend the whole day at Magenta's house, reading messages and figuring out how to water her plants and feed her fish. Her message tells us to go to the computer, where we hear "Bloop Bloop!" Magenta sent us an email! We help Joe read Megenta's message about what she's been doing at the beach. When Magenta gets home, she thanks us for having done such a wonderful job taking care of her house.
User Submitted Blue's Clues - Blue's Room - Alphabet Power Reviews August 10, 2008 Great for toddlers & Pre-K My 3 & 5 year olds love this Blue's Clues. They enjoy the "Blues Room" as a change to the old animated blues clues. This DVD helps them practice their alphabet in fun and creative ways. A good buy.
April 21, 2008 My son loves this Blues Clues dvd My son love this video, it have 4 chapters the alphabet power, the Alphabet Train, Lets Write and Magenta's messages, he have lots of fun.
April 6, 2008 Great movie This is our second one, because my son scratched the first one when he was younger. He is 5 years old now and still loves to watch it.
March 20, 2008 My son loves it! This is one of my son's favorite videos. Plus, he learns alittle something, too! Blue doesn't annoy me as much as some of the other characters that are out to tantalize toddlers, so I can handle it, too!
December 17, 2007 My absolute favorite Blues Video We have several Blues Clues videos and this is my favorite. My daughter started watching it at 18 months and by 2 she knew all her letters and sample words that started with each. At 3-1/2 now she writes and verbally spells words and it all started with this video! The other favorite of mine is "Blue's Big Musical Movie", especially the episode with Ray Charles and the parts needed to make a song.
June 18, 2007 Great episod! This is another great episod. Teaches ABC with the book "Chika-Chika boon boon ABC" story. My children love this "Chika Chika boon boon! Good to recognized Alphabet
May 14, 2007 My kids love this show My kids love this show it is great for them to learn as well.
February 22, 2007 NOT Blue's Clues, that's for sure! We got this movie for our toddler, who really likes the Blue's Clues cartoon that is on TV even though she's seen it only a handful of times. This movie is different from Blue's Clues. It's like Blue developed a serious case of ADD (no disrespect intended)! It's really fast paced, kind of chaotic, really jumps around, and the characters are kind of whiny and crazy. It's not bad, just a really far cry from the quality show we've seen and expected. I'm not discouraging it, but you can watch the episodes that are on the dvd on the blues clues web site.
January 9, 2007 Blue and my child with autism My son who is now 5 missed part of his childhood in an autistic fog. We are getting him back and as we do we are catching him up on the childhood he missed. While he has always been bright, he could not verbalize what he knew. This particular Blue's Clue's has helped him, through music, express this learning. He loves the music and the movement and has been able to grasp a great dealfrom it.
August 11, 2006 Skip Blue's Room and watch the 3 Blue's Clues episodes After the Blue's Room episode are 3 excellent shows, all with Joe -- The Alphabet Train, Let's Write, and Magenta's Messages. My 2 year old loves these. And here's a little tidbit ... In the letter from the Alphabet Train, pay attention to Brianna, Charlie, and Lucy. You'll see the same three kids in Let's Write, but now their names are Elizabeth, Alex, and Kennedy!
