User Submitted Care Bears - Journey to Joke-a-Lot Reviews September 2, 2008 A Perfect Children Movie My two nieces one who is three and the other will be two in November love this movie. The eldest loved the Big Wish Movie, and when I showed her this one at Target she begged me to buy it. Funshine Bear is one of her favorites so I agreed. Every other day she has to watch watch Wish Bear or Funshine Bear. I know some people have spoke about their children getting scared, but my nieces just sit and hum along with the songs. This is a great movie with a great message at the end.
August 2, 2008 Pretty Good My 2 year old son likes this movie, he seems to like Care Bears Big Wish better though. It's worth buying.
July 6, 2008 Totally Bizarre.. Okay, my girls, 2 and 4 discovered the Care Bears recently with the Oopsy Does It video. They *loved* it. Sat completely silent through the whole movie just glued to the screen. Wow. They didn't seem as interested in the tv series, so when I found this movie, another with computer-generated Care Bears, I thought it would be a hit. Wrong. This movie is bizarre. Bizarre. It is a little scary, as someone else mentioned. Not at all light, happy and funny like Oopsy Does It. This was darker, eviler. Like this episode was directed by Tim Burton or something. Just weird.
April 18, 2008 Daughter loves this movie!! My Daughter is 2 and a half and absolutely loves this movie. The songs are very catchy and it is appropriate for all ages!!
April 7, 2008 Whether you love or hate this new take on Care Bears, I hope you will still enjoy this film. If you are looking for a fun movie to watch with your kids this one is a keeper. We purchased this movie for our toddlers and they love it.
The tunes "Joke-A-Lot Anthem" and "Here I'm A King" are great. My daughter and I love to dance along in our living room.
The story centers on themes of fitting in, knowing where you belong and home, may be over the head of younger kids.
You may see some reviewers not liking the fact that the movie is not all syrupy and sweet, but then again neither is life or the world. Plus..., it's just a movie after all.
Recommended.
Cheers!
October 25, 2007 Very Cute, but cheaper at... Very cute movie, 2 yr old loves it. BUT you can get this movie at walmart for $5! and its also brand new there.. Just thought yous would like to know.
May 15, 2007 The animation is so life like similar to 3D The animation is spectacular, I wish these type of cartoons were made when I was a kid. My 19 month grand-daughter loves this video, and the music too. I'm not too sure what those "other" reviewers are talking about when they state that the graphics are scary, and wishing they made them the old-style way, to them I say "grow up with the times and enjoy, it's only a movie, and if that's your opinion be real, it's only a cartoon, you're judging waaaayyy to harshly.. I wish they made more movies like this, it looks spectacular on my 50" Toshiba that I had also bought through Amazon, saving me a great big bundle.
November 5, 2006 Care Bears - Journey to Joke-a-Lot My granddaughter loves it.She watches it 2 to 3 times a day,Need i say more.
July 18, 2006 Don't reject the new in favor of the old! My three year old absolutely loves both of the CGI animated Care Bear movies and we sing along to the songs together. The new soundtracks are catchy and have great messages/themes. The story line for this particular movie is appropriate, well paced (not too fast) and provides a valuable lesson--be careful how you treat others, and sensitive to other's feelings. I would strongly recommend this movie, without hesitation, even if Funshine Bear did "become" a boy...I view all of the Care Bears as sex neutral and my 3 year old is oblivious, regardless. Enjoy!
March 22, 2006 My daughter loves it! My two year old loves those carebears, especially Journey to Joke-alot. It is funny and she loves to dance along to the songs!
