WAS GOOD, BUT WANTED I MORE
LOVED THE SERIES, BUT IT ENDED TOO QUICKLY. WITH NOT A VERY GOOD FINALITY TO THE WHOLE STORY.

An Epic Homage
Though without the Filmation version of Masters of the Universe, we would not have been able to experience such masterful illustration, animation, painting and writing that is the 2002 series all rolled into one, for me, I can readily say that the Mike Young Produtions He-Man is the best of the bunch. I could watch every episode dozens of times without growing bored. Thank God that they had a second season in which to tell some of the best stories centered around King Hiss, Hordak and the ancestral history of King Grayskull. Apparently, we will have to rely on our imaginations in order to anticipate what would or could have been.

In the meantime, buy this DVD for yourself, your wife or girlfriend, your friends, and your kids or someone else's. It's just that good.

Until next time.

Full of extras!
Pretty cool set that captures the awesomeness that was the 2002 Masters of the Universe show. I live on a military installation, and when these DVD sets hit the shelves at our PX they were gone in two weeks. A lot of us in our late 20s to mid 30s remember the classic toys and cartoon fondly; and a lot of the younger servicemembers may have been around 12-15 years old when they caught this show on Cartoon Network. I love that they included the script to the unproduced 14th episode of this season, but it was sort of a cliffhanger episode that would require a 4th season of the show to resolve. As it is, the series seems to end with He-Man in a supporting role.

Disc 1, Flawless. Great Package, great episodes
I just got it today. I was worried, a fellow buyer posted a review saying episode 3 in disc one freezes around the 15 min mark, even worse than the flaw in vol 1. I watched the rest of the episodes and left the supposedly defective one for last, had my fingers crossed. It went SMOOTHLY all the way until the end...what a RELIEF. NO FLAWS in any episode in disc 1, i havent checked disc 2yet, still a little nervous, hopefully it will be alright. COOL CARDS and cool package, have to buy vol 1 to complete the series, i know the courage of adam episode in vol 1 is defective but i can live with that. My only complaint,,,,I WANT MORE OF THIS SHOW...THANKS AGAIN AMAZON.

Too bad there was no season three!
The new He-Man is everything that the original series from the 80s was not- well animated, with a compelling dialog that both children and adults can enjoy. Personally I think that it was targeted to appeal in large part to the fans of the original series- kids then, adults in their 20s and early 30s now.

Volume 3, the final volume of the DVD release of the series, covers the completion of season 2. It's too bad there was no season 3 as it was rumored that the She-ra storyline was going to be brought in, which would have been very cool indeed.

Still, seeing the rise of the snake men, the orgins of Grayskull, and some characters that the original show never showed but were included in the old comic books (Stinkor, Mossman, and so on) plus very high production values make this a great addition to anyone's DVD library. Do get the other 2 volumes first though!

beware disc one needs to be replaced, bad transfer.
i love the show dont get me wrong with one star, its not the show that gets the one star rating but the product itself. BCI has done it again with the bad transfering. disc one episode three around the mid of the 15 minute mark the episode skips and freezes. its nothing on the disc itself no residue or scratches. just bad data transfering. i would believe all of the dvd sets are like this. now i have to find a way of getting it replaced.

Enter the Snake Men
The adventures of the powerful defender of Castle Grayskull come to its thrilling conclusion in "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Volume Three". Guided by the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, young Prince Adam wields his Sword of Power to become the mighty champion He-Man and leads his fellow warriors against the evils that plagued the peaceful inhabitants of the planet Eternia. In these final 13 episodes, Skeletor and his henchmen aren't the only evils to challenge He-Man. The villainous King Hiss and his loyal Snake Men have been freed from their ancient prison beneath Snake Mountain. "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" is an amusing remake of the 1980s cartoon favorite based on Mattel's successful toy franchise. The 2002 adaptation has many similarities to the 1980s original but its stories, characters and action are well updated for a whole new generation of viewers. The second season features some solid character backgrounds. The 3-disc DVD set includes such highlight episodes like "The Last Stand", "The Price of Deceit", "Out of the Past", "The Power of Grayskull" and the two-parter "Rise of the Snake Men".

"He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Volume Three" is a well recommended purchase. The final thirteen episodes of the 2002-2003 animated series are presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen format and include the never-before-seen end of episode morals. The picture quality is pretty good and its 2.0 Dolby Digital sound offers some fine surround effects. The 3-disc DVD includes three picture galleries, three documentaries (The Making of King Grayskull, Four Horsemen & Interviews with Mattel Toy Designers and Marketers), three full episode animatics and commentaries (5 audio & 2 video) by series creators on selected episodes. Overall, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Volume Three" scores a "B+".

Just When It was Getting Realy Good
As a fan boy of the 1980's series I have no problem saying that this remake was a fun show from the start, but in the final season it got to its best parts. The story focused more the development of characters and Eternia's history and less on ideas for new toy designs. The episodes are fluid and well written...and then it was canceled...idiot execs >:^(

This is a must have for fans of the new and old He-man universes.
