Six year old Susan has doubts about childhood's most enduring miracle Santa Claus. Her mother told her the "secret" about Santa a long time ago, so Susan doesn't expect to receive the most important gifts on her Christmas list. But after meeting a special department store Santa who's convinced he's the real thing, Susan is given the most precious gift of all something to believe in.
User Submitted Miracle on 34th Street Reviews October 30, 2008 Miracle on 34th Street My family enjoys this movie every year. It stands up to the test of being a remake. The directors choice of stars turned out great too. Make popcorn, put your feet up and have fun.
September 23, 2008 Great! This film is a Wonderful Christmas film with some truly heart warming parts. One in particular is the scene where he signed with the little deaf girl in the store.
I did not care too much for the court scene but I realize it was a take on the original and that is somewhat of a staple of the whole film.
But all in all, I loved it!
July 25, 2008 Worth a watch at Christmas We watched this movie with the kids the other night and I was reminded how much I like it. It's a great feel-good movie for the holidays. I wouldn't recommend it for the kids though - it's too long and Santa really doesn't have his suit on for much of it. But if you have not seen this movie, it is worth a watch this holiday season.
May 5, 2008 Why Why Why Maureen Ohara related that during the filming of the original, everyone knew it would be successful because they could sense how much heart was in the film. Heart seems to be something very difficult to generate in films these days and this remake is a good example. The film is competent, but heart is replaced with cutesy and smarmy. Hopefully this film will pass into oblivion. I doubt that 60 years from now anyone will be calling it a classic, that is, if it's still being shown. If your new to movies and heard about how enjoyable "Miracle on 34th Street" is, they're talking about the originial.
March 5, 2008 As good as the originial - just different I felt this remake of "Miracle" brought it into the modern world. While I loved Natalie Wood in the original version, this little girl has a personality all her own that fits the movie well.
I also thought the adults in the film were actually better than in the original -- except for maybe the guy who played Santa!
February 7, 2008 Miracle on 34th Street - the remake This is truly a classic movie filled with all the charm and sincerity you would want in a Christmas movie. A feel good movie, which is in short supply these days. I would recommend this movie to anyone of any age.
January 27, 2008 Great movie for the Christmas Season! I bought this because I love watching this movie around the Christmas season, I've seen it multiple times on TV, but I missed it this year. So I went out to buy it and couldn't find it. I love both versions and would recommend this movie and the original to ANYONE!!!
January 22, 2008 Miracle on 34th St. I was pleased with the condition of my purchase the the timely manner in which it arrived.
January 21, 2008 Miracle indeed Very satisfied with my purchase. It's only a dvd, but it was shipped in time before christmas even though I ordered it late. It was refreshing to order something online & it arrive in a timely manner and without defects. My daughter enjoyed the movie thoroughly. It dealt with the delicate issue of Santa Claus being real or not and allowed me to sit back, enjoy the movie & let my daughter decide for herself.
January 2, 2008 Absolutely CUTE!!! While being a "makeover" film, it does well on its own if not compared to the original from way back. What a great cast. The also did a great job of allowing you to forget that its a makeover. Its one of my favorites every year!
