Join a team of explorers on the expedition of a lifetime as they set off to become the first to navigate the Blue Nile from source to sea. The epic 3,260 mile descent down the world's greatest and deadliest river has eluded humankind for centuries - until now! Ride shotgun on the team's 16-foot rafts as they crash through the rapids in Ethiopia's desert canyons. Battle through some of the world's most extreme whitewater rapids with renowned kayaker, Gordon Brown. Over the arduous, four month journey, the team faces nearly in-surmountable challenges - from crocodile attacks to armed bandits and arrests. Through breathtaking cinematography, Mystery of the Nile reveals a wondrous region and abundant treasures, from Tissisat Falls and the wonders of Egypt to the forgotten black pyramids of Meroe and 12th century churches that were carved into sheer rock. Disc 2 includes the complete feature in Microsoft Windows Media High Definition, playable on your PC.
User Submitted Mystery of the Nile (IMAX) (2-Disc WMVHD Edition) Reviews October 31, 2008 Myster of the Nile I had read the book, but missed the movie when it was at the Detroit Science Center. Although seeing it at an IMAX Theater would have been great, the photography was unbelievable. An absolutely breathtaking film!! Well worth the cost and I will definitely share it with my kids and grandkids.
June 29, 2007 Excellent You are there.... well, almost. I am going to buy this DVD. Bravo! Wish it were twice as long!
May 10, 2007 nile boat trip good but I would like to see more land and river ,less of the people making the boat trip...show more of the head waters of the nile...not just 30 sec.
March 26, 2007 A thrill ride all the way Once again the Macgillivray-Freeman company have produced a superb film. The trip down the Nile is a wonderful adventure.
February 20, 2007 Mystery of the Nile It is an excellent documentary with a high level of quality and well planed. I had seen another kind of documentaries about the Nile, but none like this.
November 30, 2006 WMVHD doesn't work The little robotica video works, the menu loads, however the video will not play. When I try to open the video file from the DVD media player encounters a license key error. I will probably not buy any more WMVHD DVDs.
November 14, 2006 A Trip Down the Nile This is wonderful documentary. Visit modern and ancient places and shoot rapids with adventurers in inflatable dinghies. The camera sits at the front of the boat and even goes underwater if the cameraman falls in. I watched it on a 10 foot screen and the only thing missing was water to get wet. See magnificent waterfalls and meet fascinating people as you travel the length of the Nile from its source.
September 10, 2006 about the review on Mystery of the Nile....... I have bought a copy of the code 1 DVD version of this documentary film and watched....hee hee....The idea of this documentary is to let all take a view of the adventure down the river nile and different groups of people they met during the trip. The main idea of filming these documentary is to let all have a better understanding of the cultures of people, places and of course the beauty of the sceneries of the places etc. Each portion of the project on this film is phase out nicely as to make it interesting to viewers. We will continue to work in other documentary to bring out the best we have which will give all a new viewing experience.

August 7, 2006 One of the Best IMAX Films Over the years I have seen many IMAX films...most were forgettable, a few unforgettable. "Everest" is one IMAX film that still lingers in my memory. This film is almost as good as that film. It is beautiful, educational and exciting. It, at times, kept me on the edge of my seat. My whole family agreed it was a memorable and worthwhile viewing experience. P.S. It also has a wonderful soundtrack.
March 11, 2006 Excellent documentary and amazing sound track It's one of the best documentary I have seen for while. It shows not only the true source of the Nile but also how the ancient civilization connect the Nile river between life and death for living.
