The Sesame Street character has fun singing some catchy new songs (you and your toddler just might, too), explaining the difference between light and heavy, having a laugh over pictures and numbers, and sharing the screen with a good-natured Whoopi Goldberg and Julia Roberts. Of the various Elmo videos, this one really does have the choicest material and stands up to repeat viewings--a big plus with little ones. --Tom Keogh
User Submitted Sesame Street - The Best of Elmo Reviews September 30, 2008 A Favorite Very cute! One of my 22 month old son's favorites. We have seen many of the Sesame Street DVDs (including Elmo's World). With the real background, catchy songs and the cute story line this one keeps us coming back.
September 15, 2008 Elmo is awesome! This DVD was wonderful for my Elmo crazy son on our recent road trip. I only wish it was longer! Elmo rocks!
September 14, 2008 Great DVD!!!!!!!!!! This product is fantastic!!! My grandsons love Elmo and they sing and dance with Elmo and his friends through the entire dvd; especially the 2 year old. I only wish that the length of the show was longer than 30 minutes. They should come out with The Best of Elmo 2.
September 12, 2008 This cant be Elmo at his best! Seeing the reviews on this site, I excitedly went out and purchased the Elmo DVD for my 2 year old daughter. First of all, what a disappointment! This DVD does not deserve the title of the Best of Elmo. Secondly, there are only a handful of songs (3 are cute/noteworthy, the others are not great). The DVD is only 30 minutes long and maybe 5 minutes of that is talking/storyline. Of the talking parts, 2 of the segments are totally uneducational and pointless (Whoopi and Julia). So I would say that only 10 minutes of this DVD is actually enjoyable. Despite this, I'm giving it 2 stars because my daughter actually sat through it, although because its only a half hour in length she makes me repeat it 3-4 times each time she watches it!
September 5, 2008 HANDS DOWN BEST VIDEO FOR TODDLERS!!!!! This was my eldest daughter's absolute favorite video when she was two. I was surprise to find that my second daughter (13 months) also loves it. She screams with delight every time we put it in the DVD player. I'm not sure what makes this video so irresistible, but both of my girls love it more than any other, including other sesame street and elmo's world videos.
August 31, 2008 Who cares as long as your baby loves it! I agree with a lot of the feedback above regarding quality, duration, celeberties being unknown to kids & all but who cares :) :) everyone agreed that their child loves it & thats all that counts. My child doesnt stop laughing & waving as soon as this one starts.... not like some other Elmo DVD's which are unbelievably boring to any breathing creature... You should always ask yourself if you would consider obtaining it again if lost or damaged & the answer would definitly be YES...
June 28, 2008 If you love ELMO NOthing more to say other than if you or your child loves ELMO, they're gonna enjoy this DVD. My 3 yr old loves it.
June 25, 2008 Old Video, But Still Good I guess I didn't realize how old Elmo is...there are clips of him with Ruth Buzzi and a very young Julia Roberts. Also, the song "Five" is a repeat for us, because it's on the "1,2,3 Count with Me" DVD, which we have. Overall, though, I still really like this DVD. It has catchy songs, a good selection of other characters, and (most importantly) it keeps my two-year-old son engaged. There aren't any "Elmo's World" segments, which is kind of a good thing. There are several Elmo's World DVDs out there to choose from, so this one is kind of unique. The story line is that Elmo is trying to decide which of his drawings he should put in the monster art show, and as he shows them to his friends to get advice, he winds up giving them all away. Each drawing represents one of his "best of" scenes through the years. Cute story line, fun scenes, and - of course - plenty of Elmo for your little ones.
May 12, 2008 Cute video Its a cute video with Elmo songs and dances. I gave it a 4 star because it was pricey for only 35 minutes, and it could have been longer and it could have included other, even better songs. But, overall, our daughter really enjoys it.
March 27, 2008 best of elmo my 19 month old loves elmo and this elmo story is great. all the stories are tied together with the theme of which picture elmo should enter in the monster art contest. the songs are cute. there were two parts that my 19 month old found too intense and I just skippped through them. They were of Julia Roberts showing this is what being afraid looks like and the other was telly showing heavy vs. elmo showing light. It appeared that telly was being hurt. but all in all, I'd say buy this oneif your little one likes elmo. I find myself singing elmo's song while doing chores. It's catchy. The baby likes it because of all the la la las instead of words.
