The Best of Abott & Costello, Vol. 3
I bought this set for one movie, "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein", to me the set was worth it for that one alone. The rest is just gravy, especially the other two "Meet" movies, and some pretty good thick milk gravy with lumps of sausage at that. I highly recommend you get this set while you still can as these are all out of print now. Fortunately I found a reasonable seller that wasn't gouging as some do when they go OOP. If you enjoy this catch "The Adventures of Ma & Pa Kettle, Vol. 1" and "The Adventures of Francis the Talking Mule, Vol. 1".

Past Their Heyday
Except for A&C Meet Frankenstein, this group is limp by comparison to their earlier work from the 1940s. The films are still okay to watch. If you hadn't seen A&C Go to Mars, the following is a SPOILER, so stop reading here. I hadn't seen Mars since I was 12 and always felt the end was cruel when Costello kisses the innocent girl (Jackie Loughery) and the queen's curse ages her to 100. In my recent viewing I realized at the end that the Queen lifts the effects of the curse which, I assume, means the girl returned to her youthful beauty. Great to see Bruce Cabot in Lost in Alaska. I guess my problem with this group is that I can see the potential of each film if Universal really got behind the projects. Apparently they just relied on Bud and Lou's reputation to sell these movies which is unfortunate.

Great Buy
This DVD was a great buy. It was packaged in mint condition and unopened.
I was very happy I bought it.

Buy it before they cant be found anymore
This was exactly what I was looking for. In this day of anime violence and off-color innuendo in kid's programming, I have been picking up DVDs of entertainment from my own childhood to share with my grandchildren...and they love it!!!

Abbott and Costello: Volume 3
I have loved Abbott and Costello since I was a little girl even though they were through making movies by then. So I really enjoyed this DVD of eight of their movies very much. I think I prefer volume 2 a little better but I still watch one of their movies every day. They are very up-lifting and clean.

Classic Humor at its Best!
Eight great movies at one great price! Lou is still funny to the younger generation! My favorite is still "Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein." Clear picture. Clear Sound. Clearly Hilarious!!!

It's Abbott and Costello...what can I say?
In the 1960's these movies were my Sunday morning treat on TV. However, I am very surprised how much more I like these movies now. Every movie is filled with fantastic displays of musical scores and performances. I appreciate the sound coming through stereo speakers rather than a small tv speaker (as it was). The picture is fantastic. Of course, all is mastered and digital. Back in the day it was ONLY a straight antenna and reception was not so good.

These two guys are just so in "time". They use their talents to develop skits which were later episodes on the TV series. Sometimes in a movie Bud throws a line to Lou whereas in the TV series the roles are reversed.

I bought all four of the volumes of movies and the entire TV series as well. If you search Amazon you will also find a couple of other movies that are not in this collection like Abbott & Costello in Hollywood and Lost in a Harem.

The movies are just pure fun. I leave you with a line from Bud Abbott as he says, "May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live." Enjoy!

Always good ...
How can you not enjoy watching these classics (well, maybe not more than one per month!) ... Quality is decent, although I'd prefer having 1-2 movies per disc, to allow nice labels. These always bring back memories of Sunday afternoon flicks on TV years ago.
