User Submitted The Little Mermaid (Two-Disc Platinum Edition) Reviews October 8, 2008 What A Joy! Sent this as a gift to a very special little girl on her birthday. She just loves the movie and I get the biggest kick out of listening to her humming the tunes. Would definately recommend this.
October 6, 2008 Great Stuff Well done remastering. Colors are nice and vivid. Everything we remember from the theatres back when it was orginally released. Worth buying!
September 21, 2008 Enjoyed! I sent this to my 3 year old granddaughter in Long Beach for her birthday. Her parents tell me she loved it.
So although I didn't see it I got a good "review" of it!
What I'm looking for now is a copy of the Lion King.
Thanks.

September 15, 2008 The best Disney movie of my lifetime Fine, I was pretty young when this movie came out. But I watched it again and again and again. Knew all the songs and still do. I'm sure I will know them all my life. I do have a soft spot for "Dumbo" and "Robin Hood," but in my lifetime this is the best Disney movie ever made. And since Disney isn't making any more animated movies this may well be the last good Disney movie ever. Sorry all you Lion King and Beauty/Beast fans, they just didn't do it for me. It's sad to witness an end to an era of creative genius but I'm glad they decided to close their animation offices rather than keep putting out things like Hercules and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I haven't seen any of the video sequels, thank god. Oh, and by the way, when I talk about the Disney movies made in my lifetime, I'm not counting Pixar, which I think makes great films. Unfortunately, it seems like they've left the cartoon musical behind too. I'm afraid we'll never see another movie like The Little Mermaid again.
August 30, 2008 Regional Restriction for viewing in Australian DVD player There is apparently a Regional Restriction for viewing the DVD in Australian DVD player. So we were unable to view the DVD on our DVD player. It would nice that when we purchase the DVD that Amazon.com would tell us that there would be restrictions in viewing the DVD in Australia and restrict us in continuing with the purchase.
August 26, 2008 Too scary for all my children I ordered this DVD from Netflix and we played it twice. All in family concluded that they didn't want to watch it again. This is from a 2 1/2 year old girl, a 4 1/2 year boy and a 10 year old girl. My girls love many of the songs we play from YouTube, like "Part of Your World", but the evil enchantress and the sharks that "kill" make it all too scary for them. My kids have 100's of DVDs, and preferred titles are: Angelina Ballerina, Ratatouille, Cars, Baby Enstein box set, Teletubbies, Rescue Hero, Alphabet Train, Dora the Explorer, Bob the Builder, Maisy, Kipper, Mickey Mouse (not all the old ones though), Winnie the Pooh Friendship series DVDs, Heffalump Movie, and Wiggles Big Red Car to name the favorites. Wish there was an option to select and play "preschool" edition minus all the scary parts. Even our 10 year old thought too scary, and said Cinderella was the only one that doesn't scare her of all the Disney movies.
August 18, 2008 "Wish I could be part of that world..." The Little Mermaid is another childhood favorite of mine. I just love this movie! Ariel is the coolest mermaid ever! My cousin and I used to watch this classic over and over again. I highly recommend this family favorite, enjoy!
August 7, 2008 Favorite Childhood Movie i am 25 years old and this movie has been my all time favoirte Disney Movie behind Fantasia. I first saw this movie in theaters when my grandmother took me to see it and my mother and i saw it at the Fox Theater the next year. I used to rent it on video when it came out and then i got it not long after it was relesed. Ariel is one of my favorite Disney stars. I have it on video but sadly i can not watch it much anymore. Any how my favorite part of The Little Mermaid is when Eric and Ariel get married in the end. I will always love Teh Little Mermaid.
