User Submitted The Parent Trap (1961) and The Parent Trap II (1986): 2-Movie Collection (2-Disc Set) Reviews September 30, 2008 Awesome movie I have loved this movie from the first time that I saw it when I was little. I am glad to have bought this movie for my own collection. The movie came very quickly and in great condition.
August 31, 2008 Lovely classic movie! There is nothing like the original movie and the original cast to evoke memories of my girls watching this and laughing as they sat upon my lap. I love the two leads in the movie, Maureen O'Hara and the male lead who is now gone. The girl who played the dual roles as the twins was superb. Getting old, can't remember any names anymore.
August 23, 2008 Far Superior to the Lindsay Lohan re-do. I can't count the number of times I have watched this movie, that my children have begged to watch it, or the times we have laughed at scenes that we knew were coming up. This is a great movie for the whole family, and does not have all the snot-nosed attitude that the newer version has. Haley Mills is adorable, and does a superb job as both daughters in this version. Brian Keith, and Maureen O'Hara are wonderful as her parents as well. Add this one to your classics collection. You will not be disappointed.
July 26, 2008 The Parent Trap & Parent Trap II I thought the combination movies were excellent. I saw the original Parent Trap II years ago and loved it. It was even better now. It is a movie that the whole family can watch and enjoy together.
July 12, 2008 Great Family Movie I have watched this movie close to a hundred times and I still enjoy watching.
May 19, 2008 Nice classic family movie Classic family movie --- as long as kids understand children are only smarter than parents in the movies. The underlying themse of 'kids are smart and parents are stupid' and the impact that has had on society is why I gave this movie three stars instead of five. Children need to show respect for parents / adults and movies like this undermines the respect that children should be giving to their elders. None the less, it is an acceptable family movie in times of few choices for the family.
The second movie of the collection is a waste of time and I am sorry I purchased this set instead of just the classic movie (I thought the second one was the "double trouble edition" which IS worth watching - I ended up buying that one as a separate purchase)
April 7, 2008 One of my wife's favorite movies! My wife loves this movie... and as always the original is much better than the remake.
March 26, 2008 Great Classic Movie I love these movies. Amazon is the Bomb!!! So much easier than shopping at a movie store. As always, great service and fast shipping!
March 6, 2008 beware of shipping Beware of "free shipping" take it to mean super slow delivery. I ordered this dvd and it was in stock. Ordered 2/5 My order was not even filled until 2/11 and I did not rec. until 2/19. Free shipping is no longer worth using. I might as well go to brick and mortar store and buy this item. No cost savings and shipping is no longer convenient. Amazon holds your items hostage for a week before shipping.
Love-love love the Parent Trap
March 4, 2008 Excellent! The Parent Trap is an excellent and funny classic. It is great for the entire family both old and young.
