User Submitted Angel Line Treasure Toy Box Reviews October 30, 2008 Good toy box I needed an attractive piece of furniture to store my child's toys. This treasure chest fits the bill because it looks nice and holds a good amount of toys. It has held up despite my child's somewhat heavy hand. It has been safe, with features that prevent smashed little fingers. The quality is decent given its cost. The dowel holes were not machined well, and actually went all the way through to the outside surface. I had to do some patchwork to make the holes invisible to cursory inspection. All in all, it was a good purchase, and I do recommend it.
September 10, 2008 Nice toybox Once my husband figured out how to assemble the chest it is great. No real instructions for assembly. It has hinges that are great for my 1 year old opening and staying open and not falling and hitting his head or fingers. Nice quality too!
September 8, 2008 Toy chest is cute but NOT manufactured well We received the chest with a side panel that had a hairline crack. Since it was at the bottom and such a large item ($40 shipping surcharge), we didn't want to deal with shipping it back for another. Once we were putting it together, we realized the dowels did not all line up with the pre-drilled holes. Since we had the tools, we were able to re-drill and correct this - but it was a hassle. Furthermore, two of the screws broke off while HAND tightening. We know not to over-tighten / strip screws so I assure you; it was not due to excessive force. We also had to move a wood spacer for the hinge because one was put in the bottom corner of the chest. No matter how the pieces were turned, one of the spacers was wrong. We had to supply the nails / glue for this re-construction as well. If you have the carpentry skills, time (what's that with a baby???), and patience this toy chest will work. Long story short, I can't believe the manufacturer hasn't been fired by this line of toy chests. If we had purchased from a store, we would have taken it back FOR SURE; however, the hassle of trying to return online seemed like more than rebuilding the thing with the pieces they sent.
