User Submitted Baby Jogger City Mini Double Stroller - Orange/Grey Reviews September 22, 2008 Best money I ever spent on baby gear! I love this stroller...I can't say enough good things about it. It drives amazingly (even when I have a 3 year old on one side, no one on the other side and a baby in my arms) I can maneuver this stroller one handed in a 360 spin. Amazing. My kids fit well in it, they are so comfy and I have an easy time dealing with them.
OK so every baby item has some negatives...the ones for this stroller in my opinion are minor but I will mention them. 1. I can not figure out how to really keep the stroller folded. I have used some of the straps that I don't know what they are there for to do it but I am not sure if that's the right way. but it works for me and honestly, most of the time i don't even bother.
2. The stroller has flipped backwards 2 times. I have had little of no weight in the front and someone leaned on the handle...something to learn NOT to do. Not a big deal now that I know to be careful of that but scary when the little weight in the stroller is a 3 month old infant.
3. getting stuff in an out of the basket can be a pain...i can easily do it from the sides so it all works plus the pockets behind the seats are very roomy for things I need often. I think it's well worth the little trouble.
4. you have to take everything out of the stroller basket and pockets to fold it as small as it can. A little annoying but you can fold it without it being quite as flat if you don't want to take it all out.
All in all...this is the best stroller out there. It fits behind the 3rd row of my Mazda 5 (a feat in itself since I tried EVERY other stroller and only this and the aria 60/40 twin would do it) It's light weight, sturdy, comfy, looks so nice and moves sooooo smoothly and easily.
It's so nice when I'm struggling with my kids to know that the stroller at least will not frustrate me further.
September 12, 2008 Not for Tall Kids This stroller handles beautifully and the size is great. However, I have a two year old who is quite tall and he has to crouch in order to sit in the stroller. I do not see it lasting him much longer. In addition, the seat backs are made of a soft material. My son likes to sit up straight in the stroller and cannot do so because the back of the seats are just too soft and do not support him. In addition, the buckles are not very long, so once he is buckled in he has no freedom to move or sit up straight. not a great option for sturdier kids.
July 1, 2008 A Perfect Stroller! I have bought about 8 previous strollers (some double and some single) and nothing even holds a candle to this stroller! It has all of the right combinations you look for: Pros: 1. Great handling 2. Extremely light weight. 3. well balanced. 4. The best sun shade I have used to date. 5. nice shock absoption for using lighter, plastic type wheels. 6. The easiest set-up of a stoller to date. 7. The fastest and best folding mechanism I have seen. 8. Great spaces for holding things, especially if you buy the extra cup holder with insulated compartments. The cooler accessory works well too once you figure out how to get it on correctly (it took me 5 minutes). 9. While not a true jogger, it works great for rougher terrain and overall fast street walking.
Cons: 1. Not a visible enough brand...I wish I knew about this before I spent the money on the folllowing: B.O.B.,MaClaren, Jeep,Peg Pergo,Graco,Baby Trends, Snap and Go,Joovy Caboose! All of these have some, if not all weaknesses in the above catagories.
June 16, 2008 LOVE IT! We just got our city mini double stroller this week and I have been thrilled with it. We only have a family sedan (Hyundai Elantra) and I was a little worried about it fitting in the trunk, but it is so compact that it fit in SO easily (lots of room to spare- and no having to remove wheels or turn it specific ways). It is wonderful to maneuver, light weight, compact, and VERY easy to open and collapse (you simply pull up on handles at the base of the seat and it collapses itself). I love that it has netted pockets on the back of the stroller for extra storage. There is no problem with the weight discrepancy between kids (I have a 5 month old and 3 year old) because the seats are independent and also recline independently of one another. The shades are wonderful- plenty coverage and both move independently of one another. The shades have two windows per side so you can see your children if you have the shade partially or fully out. The five point harness makes it no problem for me to take our 5 month old out on walks.
This stroller really is perfect. I do wish there was a place by the bar for me to put my cell phone and keys, but I understand that there is an attachment available, if I want it that much.
June 9, 2008 Double Stroller for Kids The BJ double stroller finally arrived. I took it out of its box and assembled it immediately. It was very simple to assemble! I loved it instantly. I was surprised to see the expansive area the canopy covered. I do wish it had a car seat adapter. If they are working on developing one, I would purchase it if need be. I took both kids (4.5 months and 17.5 months old) on a stroll on a graveled trail and our neighborhood streets, and it appeared they enjoyed the stroll.
I would recommend it for those with average weight kids. My husband, who is somewhat cynical and difficult to satisfy, actually loves the stroller.
May 24, 2008 The Best Stroller Ever Invented This is absolutely worth the money. I have twin girls and they love this stroller. My 3 year old daughter Christiana climbs into the stroller all by herself and my other twin daughter Kaylie loves the way she can just lean back in it and enjoy the ride. Easy to fold and put away. Construction is very strong and I know it will last for years to come. Pretty much already comes self assembled. I would definitely refer this stroller to family and friends alike.
April 27, 2008 The best double stroller!!! After so much research and alot of money spent on double strollers, I finally found the best one. I've tried the Dreamer Design Ditto, it was a pain to close. The Maclaren Twin Traveller, I liked it, but it was heavy and a pain to open. The Duoglider kind, just to big to push around, not to mention to fit in a trunk, just plain bulky. This Baby Jogger mini is a delight to those that need a double, side by side stroller that pushes like a dream, folds and opens real easy, sooo lightweight and yet comfortable for the children. In my opinion everybody is happy with this stroller.
The only little con with this stroller (not enough to loose a star) is that the backrest of the seat is a little soft and the children tend to slouch a little, but I managed to resolve that very efficiently, there's a pocket in the back of each seat and I just put a hardboard in it so now the seat is nice and firm.
I am now looking to buy the single version of this stroller for my toddler, even though I love the Maclaren Quest that I have now, I just believe the Baby Jogger is easier to use and the shade is much better.
I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
April 24, 2008 Perfect Double Stroller!!! A++++ I have a 7 year old, a 2 year old and a newborn. They were both born on April 4th. I researched double strollers for what seemed like hundreds of hours before I settled on the Baby Jogger City Series Mini Double and I'm very very satisfied with my decision. My two year old doesn't like his single stroller anymore and would always want out of it, so I wanted to try a side by side because I thought he would enjoy sitting next to his new brother and I was right. He happily gets in this stroller with no fight. Even before his brother arrived. I also needed something that would easily navigate a trail to my oldest daughter's elementary school. Occasionally, I need to go through grass, gravel, snow, and ice. I debated whether I should get the City Series Double or the Mini and I ultimately chose the mini because of the lighter weight. I don't enjoy strollers that are too heavy. I was worried about the plastic wheels on the mini but they're actually great. They are super big for being plastic, bigger than any regular stroller so they go over rough terrain fairly easy. This stroller is soooo easy to push and its very strudy and excellent quality. The seats are comfortable and the fold is super easy.
I also purchased the snuzzler, the belly bar, parent console and belly bar console and love all the accessories.
I have no complaints whatsoever. And this stroller is awesome looking. It fits through standard doorways too. and Each seat hold up to 50 pounds.
April 7, 2008 Very nice stroller I bought this stroller for my boys who are 1 and 2, and we really like it so far. It is very sturdy and solid feeling, but it drives and turns wonderfully. The boys both seem comfortable in it and they have to reach quite a ways to touch one another (which saves some fights). The only thing I would change is the angle of the seats...which is just slightly tilted back...but perhaps that is to help keep smaller ones in. All in all well worth the money, we'll be able to use it for a long time.
March 29, 2008 Love This Stroller! I did a lot of research before I bought this stroller, and I'm very happy with it. I had used the Peg Perego Aria (terrible) for my twins since they were born, but now that they were two, they were too heavy for such a flimsy stroller. I tried out some of the jogging strollers (Classic Baby Jogger, Mountain Buggy Urban), but they were huge! I felt like I was pushing an SUV around the store. Then I heard about the Mini---there was some confusion over the weight limit in the seats: the box says 33 lbs per seat, but it is actually 50 per seat (33 is the European standard, but it's been tested for 50 lbs in the States.)
What I love about this stroller: *Small and lightweight, yet sturdy enough to transport two 30-lb children around in it *Folds like a dream *Turns so easily---I can turn this stroller with one hand *Great all-terrain as well as indoor shopping stroller *The canopies are huge! I don't have to tie my big black shade across it like I had to with the Peg Perego
My only problems with this stroller are: *no way to lock it once it's folded (but I had read about this issue and will either call Baby Jogger or rig up some kind of latch myself) *the left wheel stays locked after you unlock the wheels, and you have to push the stroller back and forth, relock and unlock it and push the stroller back and forth again until it unlocks *the straps and clasps could be sturdier and better made *I thought all the color choices were awful
All in all, I would recommend this stroller. I don't think there's anything else like it on the market.
