Evenflo Front and Backpack Carrier Fashionable and functional for any parent and their little one, the Evenflo Front and Backpack Carrier gives those tired arms a rest. Your baby can stay close and comfortable in the 2-position adjustable seat complete with padded leg openings and head support. As an infant, they will sit perfectly in the front position, facing in or out, and when they grow older, convert it into a backpack carrier. Don't worry about back pain, as the removable shoulder pads and comfort-waist belt allow parents to enjoy the experience, too. Dual side-entry buckles make it easy to move your child in and out of the carrier.

Great, affordable carrier!
I bought this carrier (though in a different color) from an individual when my daughter outgrew her first infant carrier. It was the only carrier I could find that wasn't framed but still held a slightly larger child and could be used on the back. My daughter was almost a year when I got it. We have a framed carrier as well, which is great for hiking, etc. But I like that I can put her in this one and run in the store without looking like I got lost mid-mountain trek. My daughter loves it and is very comfortable. It's a great deal, too, when you look at the prices of some of these things. You can usually find good carriers used as well, so check out resale shops. I haven't had a problem at all with the buckles but, of course, I always check them before I trust them to carry my little girl.

Safe and Snug
Easy to wear, and comfortable for both baby and me, this carrier is right on the money. I don't see the need to spend 100s of dollars on a "deluxe" or high end carrier when this one holds baby safe and secure and keeps us both comfortable, even on long hikes. The easy lock fasteners keep the carrier secure on me, and keep baby where he belongs. If fastened properly, I don't see any way this carrier could result in a fall, unless you're turning cartwheels with your little one fastened to your chest. 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up for making our hikes much more enjoyable!

MY DAUGHTER FELL FROM THIS CARRIER
I received this off my baby shower registry. Luckily, we we're over some really cushy carpet. The right latch (when facing forward) did NOT latch tight compared to the left one.

My daughter fell out the right leg side, and hit the floor. If you own this, CHECK the strength of the left latch to the right.

PLEASE just spend the extra dollar to get a carrier that has an actual locking mechanism. This thing kind of just slide latches into place and offers no real security. Please, please, please - invest in another one and if you own it check the integrity.

I really can't stress this. Just check the strength, please? I don't want to read any other reviews besides mine of a baby falling from this carrier. You'll be able to tell if its faulty by just comparing how easily the left side comes undone to the right one. If they're both loose.. Than geez I don't know.

Good luck.

Updated original.
We had a snugli for my oldest (now 24)... I think it was just about the only thing available. Now have a newborn and nice to know that snugli is still OK! (Lots of flaps, snaps and buckles, but you can figure it out)
