The safety of your baby is one of your top priorities. When it comes to protection from accidental tumbles, you can put your mind at ease with Evenflo's new Top-of-Stair Gate. The new Evenflo Top-of-Stair Plus Gate is made taller and wider for more protection! Its four-point hardware mount combined with swing control provides one of the most secure top-of-stair mountings. The gate will swing right, left, or 180-degrees depending on how you set it. Great for pets, too!
User Submitted Evenflo Top-of-Stair Plus Gate Reviews December 28, 2008 This gate works great I love how easy this gate is to remove from its mounting bracket so it's not in the way when I'm moving things up and down the stairs. It locks securely, is easy to install and keeps even my older kids from opening it. The swing control is barely enough to stop it from destroying your wall, so don't expect much more from that feature. All-in-all, it's well worth the price.
October 31, 2008 great product for price This gate works very well at the top of the stairs. Our problem is not with the gate, it's with our stairwell. The top of our stairs is uneven due to the molding on the walls. We had to add wooden shims to make the wall even with the molding in order to install the gate. Once installed, however, the gate is nice and secure. There's no need to spend the extra money on any of the other top of the stair gates. I would definitely recommend this product.
October 28, 2008 It works. It works as it is supposed to. It is a simple gate with nothing fancy but it works. My son is less than one year but he can shake it. sometimes I am afraid that he will shake it down. The gate does not seem very sturdy. That is why I gave it a four star.
October 11, 2008 Pretty good for the price The gate was easy to install, and does the job. My only complaint is that it is a little flimsy. Also, you can pull the whole thing up if you lift hard enough. It takes a little practice to open it. I would recommend it as long as you don't have a little one that wants to swing on it!!
September 25, 2008 Not the easiest to mount, but works great once installed This gate works great once installed. I like the wide range of gate widths without any extender pieces. There are a couple of things to watch out for during mounting though. The template they give you for the hinge side specifies a distance from the floor, but if you have moldings the flange on the latch side will determine how close to the floor it can go. The other thing that got me was the sag in the gate when extended. I'd recommend mounting the bottom bracket on both sides first, then see where the upper brackets want to go.
August 25, 2008 Works Great I thought this did the job and wasn't too expensive. Never had any problems with pinching fingers and it keeps my 3 year old and 1 year old from falling down the stairs.
August 25, 2008 awesome gate works well i think its the best of its kind and would highly recomend getting this gate
August 1, 2008 Good Gate for the price!! I got this gate for my kids since their bedrooms are upstairs and ours is downstairs. I also got this for my daycare. This is a good gate for the price the only down side is you have to connect the gate to wood on both sides of the gate for security, which is great don't get me wrong. Well, at the top of my stairs I only had wood on one side (railing) and I have to go out and buy a 2X4 to screw into my wall. Other than that - it's a good gate that can be removed when not in use!!!
July 21, 2008 My Son Made a Door! "Look mom, I made a door in the gate" says my son, holding a piece of wood proudly. Easy to tear apart, not durable, but I'm ordering a replacement nonetheless, because otherwise I was very satisfied.
June 24, 2008 Does the job at a good price This is our first gate so I don't know how it stacks up against the more expensive ones out there, but it is very easy to install and works just as advertised. It's easy to open with one hand and is as sturdy as I was hoping it would be. Since it has an adjustable width there is some play between the two halves of the gate which may cause a little rattle when opening, but it isn't a problem for me. I'm ready to buy another. Also, I had no problem with the template for the screws like someone else mentioned - you just have to pull the paper tight in order to get an accurate hole location!
