Too big, 5-point harness takes too long
Takes way too long to strap my crying baby into the 5-point harness. Just makes things worse.

Then if the swing does manage to put him asleep, opening the swing results in a thud that always startles and wakes up the little guy.

I'm disappointed.

We found a different swing that is smaller and easier to use.

Some flaws but good battery life.
Overall I've been pretty pleased with the performance of this swing. Surprisingly our daughter likes it and it will calm her 60% of the time. . . and that's huge. I haven't really bothered too much with the music since I have another source to play songs.

I was at first disappointed that the swing was battery powered. I read reviews that said this swing eats batteries so I prepared myself by buying a recharger and a cache of rechargeable batteries. I then waited for the chance to use my new recharger. We use the swing at least 2-3 hours a day on our 8 lb baby and have used it significantly more at times (4-5 hours). It has been two weeks now and I'm still waiting to use my rechargeable batteries.

I understand that some people have complained about the closeure clasp on the tray. It can be loud with careless hands but like anything else there is a method that you learn quickly. I have found that it is easier to close it quietly than it is to open quietly. This was never a problem since we were always taking our daughter out when she was already awake.

I had a problem with the mobile fitting on the control-side arm assembly. What was happening was the mobile mount was knocking against the frame and not allowing it to make its full swing. The solution I found was to move the mount to the non-control side. This meant that I would have to use a pair of side-cutters or a knife (careful!) and remove the tooth on the mobile stem. This also allows the movile to be positioned to sit further forward in case that's where baby's line of sight is.

I'm giving the swing 4 out of five stars (Amazon won't let me update my previous review) because of having to move the mobile mount - that is an oversight on Graco's part. Otherwise it's worth the room it takes up in our small house.

UPDATE:

I found that regular energizer batteries last me practically a month. We use the swing several hours per day (approx 5) with an 11 lb child at setting 4. I tried rechargeable batteries but they only last a 1/5 as long. I don't know what others are talking about when they complain about battery life . . . I generally dislike battery powered devices but this one works efficiently on 3 Energizer D's.

Argh, why the five point harness?
If your baby is one of those well behaved ones that don't squirm as you try to position him/her into place, you may want to consider this swing. My two star rating is due to the simple fact that the safety belts are infuriatingly diffult to clasp, especially if the baby is resisting your effots. We've tried to use this twice. Exasperated, we gave it away.

Great Swing
This swing is perfect for my son. I love that it will hold him at an older age than the other swings will.
My only complaint is that the mechanism that swings the seat is a little noisy. Other than that, it is fantastic.

A good swing for the price.
I bought this swing for my 3 month old granddaughter. Her parents love it. This swing can put her to sleep right away when she's extra tired and fighting taking her nap.
I agree with what others have said about the tray. It is very hard to open it. The motor part did play music or sounds when we received it, but Graco sent a replacement motor right away with no questions asked. Overall we are very pleased with it.

Pros with Cons
We received this swing as a gift from a good friend for our now 6 week old. She has loved this swing from the day we brought her home from the hospital, but while the swing does wonders keeping her entertained through motion, it definitely has some cons. The mobile on it is absolutely worthless. While the bears are cute, they offer absolutely no visual stimulation to our child, and barely even move with the swing. The tray on the front of the swing is a hassle, I'm constantly afraid that it's going to be closed, and press down on her foot, and it's ridiculously hard to open, popping up with such force that the whole swing shakes, waking up our child, defeating the whole purpose. I do like the music selection, though there is one song that is rather strange that starts the first strains, stops, and restarts. However, the nature selection is absolutely horrid. It doesn't in any way, shape or form resemble soothing nature sounds, instead sounding like horrid tv static. I have problems turning the swing off, having to press the button multiple times for it to finally recognize, and another drawback is that it is battery operated, and eats through them quickly. Not a great thing in the middle of the night, when the swing is the only thing keeping our baby content, and it all of the sudden dies.

It cradles her and supports her head wonderfully though, and she really does love the rhythmic swinging motions, both at 6 for falling asleep, and 3 for just staring around the room.

Worst Swing Ever
I bought 2 of these for my twins. I am seriously disappointed in this swing. First of all, the tray is very awkward to snap into place and although it is made of what seems like the cheapest possible plastic it is next to impossible open. I need both hands to pry it open. My babies can't even see the mobile because of where it is positioned. The music selection is TERRIBLE. The nature sounds don't sound like nature sounds at all, not sure exactly what happened there, and the music selection is just as bad. It's just random classical music, no traditional lullabyes. Also, these swings go through batteries very quickly. I didn't realize they could not be plugged into a wall socket when I bought them.

Good Swing with noticeable speed variations
This swing is a very nice product. It has good music and very nice speed variations...from slow to fast...for those babies who like to swing slower when awake or faster when falling asleep-like mine does. The swing does have a light rhythmic motor noise which I was slightly concerned about at first...but to my surprise my baby seems to love it! The only downside of this swing is that it does not have a electric outlet plug-in option and it can use up the battery juice if your child likes to be is "motion-prone". So...I recommend getting a battery re-charger unit and some re-chargeable batteries...as I would recommend with any other baby item on the market that requires batteries. You can get a charger unit that does all size batteries for less than $30, which when added to the cost of the swing is comparable to the extra cost of other plug-in models...not to mention you now have a way to re-charge the batteries in your other baby gear and toys! So you can have a good swing, save $$ on batteries, and save the environment at the same time!

Happy Customers
My daughter and I ran all over town looking for just the right swing. We couldn't find anything in stock anywhere that was the right style, color, and price. We found and ordered this product online on a Sunday night and it arrived on Tuesday afternoon. The price was better than any we saw in the stores. We were thrilled and wish we wouldn't have wasted time looking in the stores. Thanks!

Good, but big
This swing is very large, takes up a lot of room when set up, and doesn't fold very flat. The mobile is useless and the nature sounds are pretty bad, but the classical music is the best music I've come across on a baby product yet. It has decent sound quality and a nice assortment of songs. The battery life seems very good - we used it on and off for several months and still have the first set of batteries in it. The reclined position was great for putting our son to sleep when nothing else worked (from about 1 to 3 months old). I can't speak to the sitting position because our son isn't interested in the swing anymore, but it's been a good swing and I'm glad we had it.
