The Lid-Lok keeps plumbing safe with no more toys to scoop out while also keeping curious children from getting into the wrong place. Quick and easy installation requires no tools, no adhesive tape, no glue and no need to remove the toliet seat to install or remove. The one hand release makes the Lid Lok easy for adults to open but difficult for a child. 1 per pack
User Submitted Mommy's Helper Toilet Seat Lid-Lok Reviews October 12, 2008 Breaks Super Easily We had this less than a month when our little one was able to break the hinge into many tiny, chokable pieces. I would expect that a safety product should be able to withstand the proddings of a 10-month-old- apparently not! Would not recommend this one.
August 30, 2008 Great Toilet Lock! I tried two other toilet locks and neither worked. The one that suctions onto the back of the toilet was the worst. This lock, however, really works! You do have to work a little to get it adjusted the first time. It also seems to work better when placed toward the front of the bowl. Consequently, it is a little in the way when you use the toilet. However, it's small, inexpensive, simple to unlock with one hand, and so far toddler-proof! I plan on buying a second one for the other bathroom. I was waiting to be sure I liked this one and didn't throw more money down the toilet.
May 29, 2008 best lock found! After trying many locks for our toliet, this one beats all! It is super easy to install and easy to unlock for adult use. My daughter tried to open the lid once, and hasn't tried again. I will use this product as baby shower gifts!
May 19, 2008 Need a flat toilet cover This product slips off of the curved toilet seat covers. I did not like it at ALL. Adhesive is also poor. If they are persistent or strong, babies can get into the toilet even if using this product properly.
May 19, 2008 Brilliant idea! This is great! It securely attaches to the toilet rim and over the seat cover. It is very easy to install and would fit standard toilets and has an extra attachment for larger toilets. What I love most about this is that you can quickly open it with one hand before my toddler sees exactly what you are doing! To a toddler it just looks as if you are flipping it open. I'm very happy with this product!
May 15, 2008 LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product This is soooo easy to install (for my husband) and easy to use. Totally keeps my son away from the toilet, now that he knows he's unable to open it! HIGHLY Recommended and very inexpensive.
April 13, 2008 It'll work for a while anyway. I'm buying two more of these after trying one out. It's true that its a little flimsy and a strong effort might break it, but it works so far. It's important to install it on the front and to follow the directions. Anyway, I haven't seen anything better yet.
April 6, 2008 Easy for toddler to figure out This product was my last hope as the other products did not fit my toilets... but my one-year-old twins figured it out in ten seconds.
April 2, 2008 It works great . . . sorta This is the first time I've written a review and I'm only doing it because I was intrigued by one especially negative review in light of all the positive reviews. I bought the product anyway and quickly discovered that it doesn't work on my toilets. Too easy to pull up the lid and seat and completely rip the lock off the toilet rim - no matter how well attached. At first I thought the product was entirely useless. But I'm happy to report that the problem was easily solved. I bought shelf liner made out of rubber and cut a strip to fit on the rim where I planned to install the lock. I installed the lock over the rubber strip and secured it according to the instructions. Voila! The lock fits snugly on the rim and secures the toilet seat and lid very well. I'm surprised the company doesn't include a rubber fitting with the product, as it certainly works and would probably eliminate any complaints.
January 28, 2008 Review of the Mommy's Helper Lid-Lok This product worked much better than one other toilet lock which uses a suction cup which did not work at all. With this type of toilet lock, it hooks onto the bowl part of the toilet then has an "arm" part that swings up to hold the seat and lid down.
Pros: 1. It is definately effective at keeping the toilet lid down. 2. No tools necessary to install. 3. It's a good product for the price. 4. Has an easy release for adults to open.
Cons: 1. The product itself seems "flimsy" and not extremely strong that an older child might be able to break it. 2. When the "arm" part hangs down when lid is open, it might be broken by an older child.
