User Submitted The First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer Reviews August 16, 2008 Simple and effective We have two bottle warmers so that we have one on each level of the house - this one and the more expensive Avent model and yet I prefer the First Years unit because it's simple to use especially in the middle of the night. I love that the water is steamed up and you don't have to empty it out like you do with the Avent model. And, I've found this unit to be more successful in achieving the desired temperature over the other model.
Only thing I don't like is that because the water gets steamed/burned up, it leaves a burned residue in the bottom which has to be cleaned out. However, I still prefer to do that than have to empty water out after every use as is the case with other units.
So, $20 model is easier to use and more effective than it's $60 competition. Go with this one - we wish we had two of these instead of one.
August 9, 2008 Must have for travel! I only use this bottle warmer on trips, and I "never leave home without it!!" It is perfect with my Avent bottles, and heats perfectly every time according to directions. I have the finicky baby who needs her bottle warm, and I used to run it under the hot water forever while she was crying. Now it's a breeze. And it's so fast. I can hold her and she watches it heat! Happy baby, happy mommy.
August 6, 2008 Love it I was definitely skeptical after reading the mixed reviews for this product but I decided to try it anyway. It is hard to get the amount of water just right but I really like it anyway. Remember, different bottles will necessitate different amounts of water. It heats quickly, is small enough to be portable, and is inexpensive. I highly recommend it.
July 29, 2008 Has ups and downs This product is nice to have if your child is picky about warm formula or milk. However, you need to be cautios when serving the bottle. They tend to overheat the formula and any condensation on the bottle can burn your child.
July 1, 2008 much-needed for first grandson!!!!!!! This is a must-have for parents-and grandparents. Gave it to my daughter for our first grandson-we both will use it. Thanks for the wonderful price and prompt service.
June 9, 2008 No more running hot water I love this warmer. I didnt get it until 2 months after my son was born. So the first two months I ran water until it was hot and then waited. But with this, its wonderful. Wait time is not long for his bottles. The chart kind of help with how much water but its a try and error but once you get it down, its pretty consistant. Sometimes its too hot or still kinda chilled but I run water then, but it is once in a blue moon when that happens. My son is 7 months now and I used it also to warm up his frozen puree. This takes about three time in the warmer but I rather stem it then use the microwave.
June 9, 2008 Great Warmer. This product is absolutely wonderful. I bought this warmer after being given the larger one with the cooler as a baby shower gift. I wanted to use this one for travel and to send with to our childcare provider's house. This warmer quickly heats up a bottle even in the care using an adapter. You do have to play with the amount of water added to the warmer, but not much. The automatic shut-off is a life saver and makes it an ease to use. I am confident warming up my breastmilk in this warmer and I would recommend it to any family with a new baby.
June 7, 2008 This little thing rocks! Quick and reliable heat-up We heat up both breast milk and formula in this thing. We heat it up in plastic bottles, and in glass bottles. It works like a charm. You have to be quite careful to measure out the right amount of water, as it makes all the difference to the temperature.
May 14, 2008 1st years bottle warmer Pretty unsatisfactory product. Arrived very quickly. Doesn't heat a bottle any faster than running the bottle under hot running water. My nanny has simply refused to use it.
April 21, 2008 Love this product! This product worked great when we had bottles that you could warm this way (using drop-ins now so they cannot be warmed in it.) One thing to note, with all the hoopla over BPA this is a great warmer for glass bottles and glass baby food jars too.
